Soccer Summer Transfer Thread...

He's going to be a great goal scorer in the EPL for Arsenal.  I wish he would have gotten more of a chance at Real, but Mou really never gave either ST a fair opportunity.  Hopefully Benzema (or whatever ST they bring in during the Summer if they do so) will be given a fair amount of minutes by Carlo to prove they're a world class goal scorer.  I have no doubt that Higuain and Benzema both are, they just need the opportunity to show it.  In other news, it looks like Real Madrid has ended their pursuit of Gareth Bale (at least for now).  Apparently Levy wants 100m and isn't even interested in a di Maria and cash deal.  Sorry, but there's only two players in the world worth that much, and Gareth Bale (as good as he is) isn't one of him.  Madrid might give it a go early next month again, but best bet is Bale plays out his two remaining years on his Tottenham deal, and signs with Real for free in 2015....

Arsenal spend zero dollars in last 7 years due to new stadium and high interest rates. They also made champion league every year for the past 15 years. Spurs no where near the club Arsenal is but they build same pricey stadium. Spurs enjoyed debt free income for many years but this is the last year they can do that. Champion league alone will not pay the bills. Sponsorships and sales of high end players will. It took arsenal 7 years to payoff half a billion dollar debt. That included sale of Fabrigas, Nasri, RVP, Song, Clichy and many many others. Spurs will sale Bale either this year or next and if they fail to reach champions league, they will clear the house.

You'll get that chance the year after next, when we take a top three spot next year with Bale at the helm. :D

No offense, but I don't see Paulinho, Dempsey and Bale taking one of the top four spots from United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea....

None taken.. I'm used to the doubters. But we're a better squad than most folks give us credit for. Sure, we missed out on a few games we should have won this season, but we still managed to put together the highest points total we've ever had before, with two strikers that absolutely disappeared for long stretches due to injury or lackluster performances.

If we happen to score some healthy talent for the front this year, look out world. It's definitely not a shoe in for any of the top five in my opinion, and honestly, I'm glad of that. Parity makes for an exciting year.
