Soccer Summer Transfer Thread...

Several big clubs still have manager question marks that have to be dealt with.  Once the Carlo Ancelotti situation is dealt with there could be a lot more movement on the transfer front as Madrid and PSG will obviously be big spenders.  Also now that Mou has been officially introduced at Chelsea you will see their level of aggressiveness turn up....

Looks like Lewandowski is determined to screw Dortmund over.  Yesterday a lot of media sites reported that Real Madrid and Dortmund agreed to a 25-30 million transfer fee and Lewandowski told Madrid he wouldn't even negotiate with them.  Either way, I still think Dortmund are making the right call not selling to Bayern, I just hope they hold firm.  Will he go there next year for free?  Absolutely.  But I don't think any club should sell their two best players to their rivals in one transfer period.  As a Madrid fan, it doesn't really bother me because while I would have loved Lewandowski, his rejection has seemed to motivate Zidane and Perez to go after Cavani that much harder, who outside of Bale is the player I want playing for Los Blancos the most next year....

PSG finally has a coach so now they may let the hostage Ancelotti go free to RM.  Also on the transfer front, it looked like Man City was all set to sign Spanish Midfielder Isco, but reports late tonight have said Real Madrid flexed their financial muscles and outbid them.  Transfer price is said to be in the 30 million range, and possibly one of the young prospects from Castilla on loan to Malaga.  Who knows if that will end up happening in the end, but that is the latest word.  Also City also apparently has pulled out of the Edinson Cavani race, which could mean he's Madrid's to lose.  Still need some defenders, as well as a defensive midfielder, but if they could bring in Isco and Cavani in one Summer I would be pretty stoked.  Now if they could bring in those two, and do the unthinkable of snagging Bale as well....that would give me memories of 2009....

Also, Higuain to Arsenal is essentially done.  Transfer fee is said to be in the 22 million range, with Arsenal wages to be in the 150K a week range.  This could be a double coup for Arsenal though, because if Bale does make it to the Bernabeu that 22 million will definitely help out....

Corinthians have confirmed they are in advanced talks with Tottenham over the transfer of their midfielder Paulinho.

Brazil international Paulinho, who has made an impression in this summer’s Confederations Cup, is believed to be closing in on a £17m move to White Hart Lane, with Corinthians director of football Edu confirming a deal is imminent.

Good news for us if only that we are finally moving early. If he's as good as they say he is, and the deal works out, good signing for us

I just realized I missed seeing Andy Carroll being sold to West Ham on Wednesday. Good deal for them, and I think he'll be better than he was at Liverpool.

I still hate the guy, cause I think he's a punk, but this is a win-win for both player and new team.

Good signing for Arsenal. They were missing quality striker big time last year. Now go get Fellaini.

Hasn't been made official yet (unless I missed it), but I'm assuming with Ancelotti finally being appointed things will move rapidly for Madrid.  I expect Higuain deal to be announced before the end of the week...

Yea I would be shocked if he didn't end up in Arsenal.  If the 22 million figure is correct I think that's fair for both sides.  IF RM sign either Suarez or Cavani I'll be interested to see if they let Benzema go too, because Cavani/Suarez, Morata, & Jese' is more than enough in front of goal.  Honestly in a pinch you could even slide CR7 forward, play Isco in the middle, Ozil on the right, and Jese' on the left where he played mainly at Castilla this year....

Same news outlet that broke the Isco transfer to Real Madrid is now reporting that Tottenham has been offered Angel di Maria and cash (unspecified amount, I would guess in the 35-50 million range) for Gareth Bale.  This coming after Bale has reportedly informed Daniel Levy of his desire to go to Madrid this summer....
