Soccer Summer Transfer Thread...

The English press is the same way really.  They're the ones fueling Cristiano Ronaldo back to United, which has zero validity whatsoever....

Mostly depends on who you read in the English press. The s*n will obviously make poo up, but there are reputable sources. I'm pretty sure the Spanish media has none.

I also haven't heard much about CR7 to the Mancs since Fergie left.  To be honest, most of CR7's comments fueled the speculation. Publicly stating that he is "professionally sad" or whatever the hell it was, and then basically saying that he loves Fergie like a father during champions league media days will do that.

They're about to get it, or at least close to it if the sun is right. Preparing a £51 , di Maria, and Coentrao bid...

You'd have to be insane not to take that. It arguably takes Tottenham, as a whole, up a notch. Especially when you are loaded with that additional transfer kitty.

The addition of Bale to Madrid makes them > Barca in my opinion. If the deal happens, I'll expect a Bayern-Madrid UCL final, assuming the draw allows it.

Rumors surfaced today, I believe from the s*n, that John W. Henry is negotiation the "secret sale" of Liverpool FC to Saudi Aramco.  I believe Saudi Aramco is the most valuable company in the world right now, with a valuation of approximately $10 trillion.

John W. Henry has taken to twitter and denied the reports, but as a Liverpool supporter, I really hope the rumor is true.  I think FSG has done a good job of turning Liverpool around in the right direction, but in order to compete in Europe, you have to spend.  The BVB approach won't work for everyone, and it won't even work for BVB for much longer.

Arsenal paid off £750m new stadium loan in 8 years and now debt free Arsenal have almost £100m annual budget for new transfers, making them top 10 world club in annual transfer budget. Arsenal transfer budget for this season is actually around £150m after many sponsorships. BBC reports that Arsenal is planning £45m bid for Suarez. Probably 3rd and final bid. I still want Usamov to buy Arsenal, he's a riches man in Russia and die hard Arsenal fan.

If I had to guess, I'd say £45m will not be enough to get Suarez. Luis will threaten to take us to arbitration, but he'll lose again like he did when he tried to push a move to Ajax.

He looks absolutely miserable at Liverpool. Why would any team want to keep him?
