Carolina Panthers’ Greg Hardy leaner, just as mean in 2013

Recommended Posts

This is the year to get it done.  We have the franchise tag just one year with Hardy.   Unless we knock out a Cam Deal before the end of 2014 we might have to use the Tag on Cam and not Hardy.

Sign him to a nice extension now.

I have faith Gettleman has a strategic plan to keep. Hardy and Cam.

The man is so f-in grounded.  I totally love his attitude.  He absolutely has to be one of every Panther fan's favorites with quotes like these.  He is one of mine.

“They believe in us. That's one of those situations where the front office shows by what they do that they're backing us,'” Hardy said. “We needed middle help. ... They were like, ‘Listen, here's the parts, man. Go win a championship.

......

“That's what it's all about for me. We're already making more money than normal people, right?”

Even while bulked up last year he was one of the fastest on the field.  I remember last year in the Tampa game Applewhite started instead of Hardy and he just could not get into the backfield.  I thought that we had to put Hardy in no matter the reason he was on the bench (Rivera had benched him for attitude reasons I think).  Next play, he was in and couldn't be stopped from chasing Freeman the rest of the day.  I believe he started every game after that.

Mean, lean, fighting machine!  lol  :sword:

How does last season not count as his "break out year?"

i'd say double digit sacks kind of makes it a break out year.

what else would it take?

i'm pretty sure the league noticed CJ and hardy last year.

One year does not a career make. I'm glad neither of you guys are going to be throwing money at players after one solid season.

One year makes a "breakout year"...hence the term breakout YEAR. Those comments say nothing regarding his career, simply that he did in fact have a breakout year. Reading comprehension...SHEESH!!

The original post was in reference to his contract extension and having a break out year again. So, yeah, reading comprehension ftw, especially when it takes context clues.

Ummm lol, YOUR original post stated you want Hardy to have a breakout year before he gets paid. Then those two comments you quoted pointed out that he already just had his breakout year...that's it, they were replying to YOU, not the OP...

The fact that you seem to want Hardy to have back-to-back breakout years makes me think you don't understand what a breakout year is. Typically you have one initial breakout year followed by subsequent consistent production. I guess Steve Smith has had 10+ breakout years in a row!!

I would definitely like to see Hardy have a break out year, and definitely take his place as one of the up and coming premier pass rushers in the NFL. If he does that, I have no problem with Gettleman giving him his money.

hmmmmm.......did either one of us say anything about throwing money at him? it was responding to the comment you made about wanting him to have a breakout year, which we said he had already.

and just as another reminder, this was your words....

you didn't say anything about years plural. you said break out year....get it? and i can't see any way that multiple years could have been implied. you said year singular.

there was a problem with reading comprehension.....apparently it was you...with your own post, nonetheless.
