Completely baseless speculation by me - how to fix our WR issue

Nicks isn't leaving NY so this is a moot point. Do people really think the Giants are that dumb?

"Hey guys, Gett-dawg comes from a legit organizations and knows how to build a winning team"

Next day

"Hey guys, look at these clowns on NY. I think they are about to let there best WR walk or we can trade for him"

so if we bring in someone. . . what exactly do you do with our projects? Are you saying not to give Gettis Adams Pilares Bryant and the rest of those guys a chance?

Thats exactly what your plan would do. It would make every one of those draft picks instantly worthless. Why not wait a year and hit FA next year after this plays out. Whats the rush? lol dont tell me your getting impatient now too after the 46 page thread of nonsense.

Like Jarhead said. It was a family matter that kept him out of OTAs. I really wanted to be first. Damm you Jarhead.

Although, from what I have heard, he still wants a new contract. But I would be willing to bet he gets it.

We need a legit #2, just not for 10mil a year.

I think this all will come down to drafting a WR just based off cap room. If you want to let Kraken walk and restructure/cut Beason and Godfrey next year then we could splurge a little on a proven WR. But 14 players are on a contract year this year (LaFell & Kraken most note worthy) plus anyone else who is on a 1 year contract.

Once the 53 roster is set we will get a clearer picture of how much of 13's money will roll over in to 2014 to chew on the ~$9M dead money already waiting on us. We can talk for days about what the right approach is.. but if the money for a FA WR isn't there, then this discussion is pointless

Aint going to happen but it could fit under the cap with no problem. People forget a contract that averages 10 million a year doesn't cost that much every year. The first year the player gets the guaranteed money from the signing bonus and little to no salary.  Since the signing bonus is prorated, the cap hit in year 1 is often very small.  It is usually year 3 or later where the big cap hit occurs. Flacco 120 million contract which averages 20 million  a year only costs Baltimore 6 million in cap space this year.  We have plenty of money to sign who we want.  The bigger question is would we want to.  I get the feeling that barring injuries we like who we have at this point.

Yea I'm not saying we COULDN'T sign him, or that it'd even be difficult to sign HIM.  Just that if we did sign him, it'd make Hardy and Cam harder to resign.
