I think gettleman has done an outstanding job with the situation he accepted. He had to sign guys that was willing to play for what we could afford and I like that he knew who he wanted to target and actually did it. Gettle is giving us something that we as Carolina Panther fans aren't used to: a front office building a team!

6 teams.....in 9 years. he has the talent to be productive so that's not really it. for him to have that much talent and be that unable to stay with any team for any length of time he's got to have some pretty hard to deal with baggage.

 

i want more talent at WR brought in...but i don't want the baggage that comes with a hard to deal with personality like lloyd apparently has. i don't think the lockerroom needs it.

yeah, it's apparently one of those things that just don't get much attention because he's not that high a profile player.

 

teams don't really talk much about it either, at least to the media/public, but it's not like he's some bad guy or anything or a lockerroom cancer type thing. he's more like a boil on the butt of the team he's on...just an annoying wierd guy that people (esp. other players) don't like to be around. at least that's just the perception i get.

 

i think if it were up to josh mcD, he'd be staying in new england but i think the players were the ones who didn't want him around.

If we don't bring in Kerry Rhodes just because he is gay and the "media circus" i'm going to be fuging pissed. Now if it just because we would rather spend the money elsewhere or he doesn't fit what we are trying to do is a different story.

 

If it is simply because he is gay and we don't want the attention, we need to seriously rethink our priorities. We add players to help this team win. Kerry Rhodes would help this team win.

That Rhodes highlight video was good. My only issue with the FS spot is the Panthers are committing Godfrey to it. If Rhodes came in on a cheap contract and is a rotational player, that's fine.  I don't know though -- i'm more concerned about the SS position at this point with not having someone already assumed to be the starter there.

Nah that rumor has been around forever and it's no secret guys that are too gay get locked out.

Honestly man, I stated Godfrey is planned to be at FS, so you're adding Rhodes (FS) in the mix. If you start Rhodes and rotate Godfrey instead of him starting, he's on the bench waiting for his turn at the tune of $3.7M this year. Just doesn't add up that way
