Shabazz Muhammad Bandwagon

Recommended Posts

What ever happened to this kid? I think we have all forgot about Shabazz Muhammad. One of the best high school prospect to come out and after 1 college season, his stock his taking a dramatic HIT. I'm not a fan of his ego on the court, but he is still a highly talented basketball player. The kid sounds smart, humble, and very passionate when interviewed. He also played on a UCLA team that has done great preparing players into the NBA. I believe his name needs to be mentioned more as a possible pick at no.4. He would greatly improve our back court. I do believe that he's an upgrade over Hendo though he plays more like a SF. The more I think, the more I like the idea of taking Shabazz at the no.4 pick. Forget the bad media attention. Shabazz is clearly the best available player along with maybe Anthony Bennett at our spot. I believe MJ will take a HARD, HARD look at the kid. Yes, I think I'm jumping on the Shabazz Bandwagon as of now.

Posted this in a bunch of other threads, stay away from BAZ

For the final time chuck, lol.

Some GM's said they wouldn't be surprised if he fell out of the lottery...

People are saying his work ethic is poor and he is not a good teammate. Oh yeah, he also lied about his age.

On top of that, his combine performance was down right dreadful lol.

Just a few links for ya...

Muhammad is not the type of player this team needs.

Lol . I saw your post on the other thread.

Still I think he has the potential to be a damn good player in the NBA. I dont care if he lied about his age. Its not something that should drop his stock.

With Muhammad, it's not so much about immaturity but more so with his ego. Why wouldn't a young 20 yrs old kid who always had attention to be great not have a little high ego? MJ can help him with that. We'd be much better with Muhammad than with Bennett or anyone else that should be there at 4. Like you said, go get a Jefferson or Millsap and we'd be a much better team.

PG: Kemba / Sessions

SG: Shabazz

SF: MKG / Taylor

PF: Biz

C  : Jefferson

I don't think we should go out and get big free agents yet like Jefferson. Not that he's a huge name or anything. But I think we should stick with what we got those year and draft Bennett or maybe bazz but only if they feel like he's their guy.

Wait until next year and get a top 3 pick and inject more talent in this line up along with having 30 million or so to spend with dead contracts and what not. Go out and make a push for a semi star type player and the 2014 hornets will be a very exciting team that everybody will wanna see. Future is lookinh good for once

And oh yeah forgot about mentioning maybe having 3 picks in a loaded draft next year. Yippee

It's not that he lied about his age, it's that fact that he is comfortable lying in general... the Hornets don't need a player like Bazz.

I think you need to edit this thread to the Bennett bandwagon.

Shabazz is my guy right now bro. Everyone has their guy and I'm going to respect you for whoever you like. Right now, I just like Bazz more than Bennett. Our biggest issue on this team is scoring offensive with no help to Kemba. Bennett would be a great pick but I really dont know if him being at 6'7 can really play with bigger 6'9 PF. If we go get a Jefferson or Millsap, we don't need Bennett.

I just dont want to rule out a good talent just bc negative news are coming out. I dont think he's close to being a locker room killer too.

Yea, me too. But like CP8789 said, we need to spend some money to get to the limit. Our hands are tied. We have to sign someone(s).

Prediction:

(1) Cavs: Noel / McLemore

(2) Orlando: Trey / McLemore

(3) Washington: Porter / Bennett

My Pick:

(4) Hornets: Shabazz / Bennett

Len and Oladipo are in consideration, but I don't see Len being a top 4 pick. Oladipo looks like the next Michael Jordan and is a very good defender with an improved offensive game. Though, I like Bazz offensive game over Oladipo. Our biggest issue like I've said before is our inability to score. I just think that Oladipo is too much like Gerald Henderson. I think he's going to give us the same kind of game too. We already have MKG who is also very similar to Victor; a good defender. Shabazz makes more sense if we go that route. He'd be a great fit in our backcourt with his ability to score. I think he can be as good as James Harden. And I'm not comparing him to Harden just bc he's a lefty. Bazz' game is very similar to his.

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
