With Gettleman valuing his hog mollies, I would say more likely to carry a 9th DL on the 53 who's inactive on gamedays. Practice squad players can be signed by any other team at any time.

 

Easier to replace LBs, DBs, WRs, and RBs for the practice squad than find other big and fast guys for the DL and OL.

 

Agree with Hatter, tho. Been a long time since I was excited about the DL like this!

 

I think it is more likely that we carry 9 DL....and given CJ's & Hardy's versatility to slide inside on passing downs, I think the 9th will be a DE.

First off, let's give it up for our front four!!! Folks around the league are going to be keeping an eye on this one. Basically 7 guys on the cheap that can literally dominate a game. As a group. We just may have the Gold Standard.

I know I may be a little over hopeful about Cole. Everything I have heard about him leads me to believe he IS healthy. That bodes well for the rotation when Cole doesn't have to be a key cog. Just be himself and he helps us out big time.

My guess is 9 Dlinemn. 4DTs, and 5DEs. With CJ and Hardy it is almost like having 6DTs and 5 DEs anyway. I can also see a case for 8 to allow you to carry a body for another position. Like has been said. Gonna be huge interest on how this plays out.

As long as Fua doesn't make the roster. We good.

4 DE-  Hardy, CJ, Alexander, & Chandler

 

5 DT - Star, KK, Cole, Edward, Gaydosh    (big body NT rotation would allow us for more 3-4 looks and clog the middle like bathroom stop after taco bell.....but seriously goal line stand or short yard stand you have CJ, Hardy, Star & Cole would be hard for O-line to get a push

I have a feeling Casey Walker might be a darkhorse in this race he's a big boy and seems to have some quickness. The DT competition is going to be a fun one to watch!

When it comes to names, everything reverts back to the fourtth-sixth grades.   When we were naming our kids, we actually eliminated names that rhymed with insulting words--no sense making life harder than it already is--

 

Of course, I was just joking, but you bring up a good point.  There are some fans who are still bent on giving players insulting nicknames.  Most spent more time in the fourth - sixth grades than everyone else.

I think he will def take 4-DEs & 4 DTs. As far as the last d-line spot, if I kno Gett, he will just take the best player available DE or DT. However, taking another DE makes sense considering cj & hardy's versatility. So I have to believe he is leaning that way.
