Not sure if you're serious?.. Is it normal for fans in the states to just switch teams when they're not happy with the team?

i didn't say i'd switch teams.

and i've been a fan since the team started in '95 so this isn't something i'd take lightly.

yes....some fans jump from one team to another. there's very little loyalty. we call them bandwagon fans. you'd have to look up the etomology if you aren't sure what that means. and it's pretty common.

for me, it's just a matter of getting tired of supporting a team that can't figure out how to turn the corner. it's been an exercise in futility for most of the nearly 30 years this team has existed having only 4 winning seasons ever and largely doing the same thing over and over again.  the energy i put into a fan could be put into something less continually frustrating and more beneficial personally.

I know this team has a history of making me look foolish when I say this...but I just don't see how we could fall below that mark and retain a coach.  There's no excuse short of we lose Cam, a few LBs, a DT, and Smitty all at once to injury for the whole season that could even come close to saving hide then.  At least not to anyone with any common sense.

we have low standards and expect less than excellence. we've proven to be more interested in loyalty and maintaining the status quo than we are with being great.

we've seen it before. i'm sure we'll see it again at some point. this team has to prove to me that they are more committed to winning than maintaining the status quo/consistency. they haven't shown that in the past and they have a history of waiting far too long to make needed changes.

my hope is that gettleman is changing that culture.

if this happens and rivera is still the coach the following year, i'm likely done as a fan. i'm not sure how much more i could take.

if we are in the hole by two games at the half point in the season, rivera needs to be gone right then. i don't care how much the players like him and i don't care what kind of late surge we have. win games early and often or find someone who can.

while i agree with the bolded statement come on man. You and I both have invested way to much time, money and energy to just be done with it. It will be beyond dissapointing regardless of the strength of schedule, but that is why there are bandwagon fans in NC and SC. Stay strong and keep the course. Just imagine being a Browns fan.

what you call a browns fan i call a sadomasicist. i don't applaud their loyalty. i laugh at it. at some point being a fan of a team needs to be rewarded with winning. it's a shame that those fans are more loyal to their team than their team is to them. when you constantly fail to put out a good product for your loyal fans you lose the right to have loyal fans, imo.

i can find better use of my time/energy/resources than supporting a team that settles for or worse, sets the bar at, mediocrity.

these last few years have killed my enthusiasm and confidence in thise team. i'm barely hanging on and i doubt very seriously i'm alone.

Cam has reenergized me. That is for sure. The '10 season was the absolute pits. Even my die-hard panther friends stopped watching games, but I didn't, and I was laughed at. Call me sadomasicist but I looked at the positives after every single game.

But I always have baseball to rely on, my #1 passion.

i lost interest in baseball years ago...when they had that strike way back when.

if i gave up on the panthers i'd just spend more time working and going outside. any void would be quickly filled.

So are you taking the over or under. I'm leaning under like last year. Last year I said 6-8 wins because of our schedule and the superior coaching we faced. I think the same for 2013.

I've been a Red Sox fan since i was 11. Imagine that. 2004 was the greatest euphoria I have ever felt after a sporting event. Never give up dude.

the schedule doesn't bother me. it won't keep us from winning or losing games.

what bothers me most is the coaching and being weak at receiver, but mainly coaching.

if things are clicking, we can beat any team on that calendar. i just have my doubts about them clicking.

that said...i see this as a 7-8 win team. i don't see a winning season and i definitely don't see playoffs and the thing that would be holding us back is rivera and shula. slow start with a rally late in the season...too late. pretty much the same ol same ol...excuses and all.

meh, it's more just finding a better use of my time and energy. it's just not that important to me anymore.
