Any long time huddler and Hornets fan interested?

Me. I've been a dedicated fan to all of our teams in NC and I've been previously nominated by other Huddlers when the rebrand discussion popped up originally. And I think I did a good job of spreading the word on the movement initially and defending the reasoning behind the need for the rebranding to the Hornets. I was a Hornets fan since I was a kid and realized that Charlotte was a city in our state. I remember copping a Muggsy Bogues Topps card in a giveaway at school during lunch and when I realized he was only 5'3", he became my favorite player outside of MJ. I remember seeing the Grandmama commercials as a kid and being so proud that we had a national, well-known star. I remember vividly going shopping with my mom at Harris-Teeter and seeing Larry Johnson's "LJ" cookies with him smiling with his gold tooth shining brightly. When NBA Jam T.E. came out, you know I killed it with Muggsy, LJ, Zo, and Hersey Hawkins. Good times... Blocked so many shots and had so many dunks...

I watched every game I could on TV b/c my dad didn't care for sports or enough for myself to take me to an actual game. But, there was something about that Hornet, with the purple perfectly complimenting the teal that seemed so timeless and unique, it felt like it was created with just me in mind. When we drafted Baron Davis, who I wanted us to pick even before the draft that year, I got in trouble several times at school for wearing Nike headbands, an homage to him.

I also feel like I was one of the leaders early on in spreading the word about the movement early on to all my fellow Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets fans, in hopes of getting our Hornets back... John Morgan, I'm proud to say, thanked me several times early on in the process for intelligently articulating the reasons we needed to rebrand to whoever would listen... This was back when the petition was only in the early hundreds and the FB page extremely sparse. Now the page has 19,000 followers and I haven't been as prominent, but I'd like to think I was pivotal in getting the message out and getting fellow fans to understand and support the idea/movement.

This is awesome, and I will absolutely be there for opening night for the homecoming of our Charlotte Hornets.

All that being said, I have someone else in mind as well, if I'm not selected as a mod.

Lol, sure. You were actually my nominee for mod outside of myself...

Idk man, I had to get all that off my chest with the news breaking. I'm feeling all warm and bubbly. Oh, and nostalgic-ish-y, lol.

I had been doing most of my basketball related posting over at Bobcats Planet until the season was over, and for the most part avoided this specific forum b/c of all the arguments related to the rebrand.

So, I just thought i'd do a little pontificating in this moment of joyous exuberance. I am stoked man!

Probably should vote but I'd be cool with Proudiddy.  I feel this forum is actually pretty chill minus the Cats vs Hornets banter, so once that is gone, it shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks Zaximus.  You've always been right here through thick and thin man, so it's much appreciated.

Who was your favorite Charlotte Hornet player?

What was your favorite Charlotte Hornet memory?

Not sure if serious, but I'll go for it anyways.

Bogues for sure. He was 5'3 and defied the odds of what was possible in the NBA at that size. It also helps that he stuck around in Charlotte after his career was over.

and

93 playoff series win against the Celtics

Bobby Phills jersey retirement ceremony

2001 playoff series sweep of the Heat.

Sorry I couldn't pick. If I had to pick it would be the Phills jersey retirement. Mainly because I remember it more so then the other two.
