Star Trek: into darkness

Saw the movie last night with my girlfriend and it was amazing! If you liked the first or just like Star Trek in general you'll love it. J.j Abrams does a great job staying true to the franchise but still revamps it. It's visually breathe taking. I'm younger so I never really saw the original show but I loved the new one and it could make anyone regardless if you've seen the show or not like it. My girlfriend hates science fiction movies but loved this one. I liken it to how batman begins went into dark knight. You have batman begins as the set up movie introducing you to characters and places and concepts then you have the second movie were you can really explore and build on top of it. It's great if you saw it let me know what you guys thought and if you haven't check it out. So worth it

I saw it last night, and I gotta say it was better than the first one IMHO. And Alice Eve was smoking hot throughout the movie.

Khan was a great reveal, as I didn't know going in that he was going to be the villain. The actor playing him did a great job.

Yeah loved the reveal. Much better then the first.

I would say it was better than the first, and that isn't a knock on the first at all because it was good. This one just picks up right where it left off and opens up the Star Trek universe even more, bringing with it that nostalgia.

I highly recommend it, J.J. Abrams knows his poo. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Saw it this morning and LOVED it!!

We've been watching the original series with my 6 year old and he watched the first Star Trek Movie this weekend. It was awesome that he knew all the characters going into it. And he understands the whole parallel time line thing going on. It's the first movie he's watched in theatres that he didn't ask if we could leave.

Can't wait for the next one.

edit: and yes Sherlock did a great job ..

    • If Clemson wins, they have a tiny shot at sneaking in.  I’d say if Gamecocks win, that shot is much smaller than Clemson’s was Gamecocks got problems Clemson doesn’t.  Ole Miss and Bama.  Both ahead of them, with the head to head win over them.
    • Yeah, I spent a lot of time living in Ashe County, in the Fleetwood area... 20 minutes from West Jefferson, 20 minutes from Boone... unless it snowed and then you had an hour and a half each way. And I did ski reports for radio stations back then, so yeah, I had to go in to work on those mornings. Moved to Greensboro and 25 years later, I really miss the snow. I loved how it looked, how quiet it made the world sound, that wonderful fresh smell in the air. I know, though, that it's just nostalgia and it would be rough as heck on me now. Still, maybe once the kids are all off to college the Mrs. and I can go back to the mountains.
    • Yeah, and he both deserves it and has the ability to be worth it. Offensive linemen can still be functional and good well into their 30s.
