This smacks of a gratuitous shot by a guy who is no longer a real sports reporter but who wants to be considered as one against a guy who is an actual NFL quarterback who may not be considered as one.

I like Gantt, but he must be truly butthurt by whatever happened that stuck him on the woman's high school ping pong beat to make a post like this.

Curious... Does anyone here think that Clausen could be better than Quinn?

I've never understood the Jimmy hate here.

He was thrown into a horrible situation and didn't have the best supporting cast, from the top down. People act like his poor play was entirely his fault and that, if not for him, we'd have been better back then.

Yet still, the guy is being a total team player, hasn't complained about his situation that I can remember, and seemingly gets along well with all his teammates. And then he's one of the first people that folks like to make fun of and tear down when the opportunity arises.
 

What have any of you done in your lives that has even come close to what Jimmy Clausen has done?

You can criticize his play all you want. You can rank his girlfriend on your unrealistic scale. But the bottom line is that the only people making an ass of themselves are the ones that take every opportunity to tear this kid down.

Even if he is the worst QB on any NFL roster, he is STILL on an NFL roster, has STARTED as an NFL quarterback, and likely knows more about the game of football than most if not all of the numbskulls on here who give him poo.

 

 

Add to that his bank account and his girlfriend and he pretty much ends up as the guy a great many of us wished we would grow up to be when we were struggling to make the varsity squad in high school.
