It is pretty fuging bad. I stood out like a sore thumb. And the people there obviously didn't want me to be there. I got stared down the whole 10 minutes i drove around then looped back to the bridge.

You are speaking to the son of a 15 year vet cop in Oakland, CA. It is a preventative measure to bodily harm, nothing more.

What does that have to do with you?

You are speaking to a man who has conceal carried for many years, knows his guns, knows his ammo and knows his laws and who loves educating himself on all of the above.

But if you really have a problem with lethality in a gun maybe we should take away all their guns and just give them megaphones so they can do drive by insults.

I've learned a lot from my Dad was all I was saying. The first gun I ever shot was an AK-47, and my Dad never wanted me to have anything to do with guns.  Never taught me, never took me to a shooting ranges, but told me stories and I asked questions. I am not some confiscate all guns nutjob. Preventative measures are necessary. I'm not sure if you have lived outside NC but this is a real issue.  I'm really not trying to call you out, but maybe give you a different perspective.

If you look at the socioeconomics of poverty stricken communities like Camden, NJ, you will see tendencies of people's interactions with each other. A lot of them stay outside, the police force for the most part stays away from places like that. This is especially in the summer time (temperature) when these people don't have AC/Fans. I know this sounds ridiculous but these are facts. Drug deals, prostitution and gang activity is done in the daytime as well as the night time.  And you saying these people are rolling around in 24's shooting sideways is beyond ridiculous.  This isn't a movie.  A lot of these people know how to kill people.

I respect your right to conceal and carry. But just because it applies to you in your position in your state, doesn't mean it applies to everybody in their position and their state.

I'm not trying to get into a fight with you about hollow tip bullets, man. I just thought your statement wasn't getting the full picture of what happens in places like that.

I was Being facetious. I grew up in Newport News. VA. Further downtown is not the place to be. I've heard a police officer say if he saw a white man in some of those areas he'd have to stop him, because something isn't right. Once the street numbers go down far enough you don't drive through there. Not saying its as bad as camden, because I have no idea. But it's bad when a cop car pulls up and crowds scatter like roaches.

We're obviously not going to agree on hollow points but just keep in mind as ive stated before they're legal in all 50 states except the one that thinks you're too stupid to pump your own gas. To me that says something.

I'll leave you with this link, something nearly all educated gun carriers believe. Look at reason #3

You people do realize that hollow point bullets are not illegal in any way, right? I only use hollow points in my conceal carry weapon. Also I didn't see in the article where the gun wasn't registered. If it was registered i believe he would be charged with possesion of firearm during a crime, or some bs his lawyer will pay the passenger to take the wrap for.

Edit- apparently in jersey you can't have hollow points outside of your home or target practice except for transporting them directly to such places. What a stupid law.

Edit #2- apparently jersey is the ONLY state in the country where you can't carry hollow points for self defense. But then again, in a state that still deems people too stupid to pump their own gas, I guess it makes sense.

Whatever. It's stupid that he felt the need to violate gun and bullet laws for no reason. I respect people's right to carry a weapon responsibly. I seriously doubt this is anything more than an athletes need to feel badass with a weapon. Nothing more than a Escalade with spinners.

He must have known that if he got caught he would go to jail.

He may not have known. He just moved there and hollow points are legal everywhere else. I understand that's no excuse, but I don't think it was done simply disregarding the law. Also I still haven't heard if the gun was legal or not. The weed thing, yeah. Don't carry weed while you have a gun on you. That's just stupid.
