"I wouldn't let Mark Sanchez throw me a paper bag sandwich"- Steve Smith

Gucci Mane

Everyone knows Smitty shouldn't have said it but here comes CRA to the rescue to tell everybody what most already know. Instead of just letting people be Panther fans and laughing it off as Smitty being Smitty.

My b yo, when he ran off at the mouth last season and it caused a media fuss....people spun it as leadership.

But I am bout done. I might check y'all out when the season starts. I am about as tired of talking about some of these as you are listening. No worries.

I wouldn't call it leadership but it needed to be done. I supported Smith doing that 100% to Cam. Just as Beason said "he needs to be a man about it" in recent interviews.  Cam knows this, everyone knows this, and Cam changed it.

And yes the offseason, running circles all day errrrday.

Sanchez's response...

I don't get the hate he garners. He honestly seems like a very respectable and nice guy. And he's far from the worst QB in the league... I don't understand what he did wrong to get all of this hate, besides being a New York Jet.

Umm yeah, as far as starting QBs go, he's damn near bottom of the league.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Carson Palmer, EJ Manuel, Colt McCoy, Brandon Weeden, Thaddeus Lewis, Ryan Tannehill, Chad Henne, Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker, Brady Quinn, Matt Cassell, Carson Palmer, Terrelle Pryor, Christian Ponder, Josh Freeman, John Skelton, Ryan Lindley, Kevin Kolb, Brian Hoyer, Sam Bradford, and Geno Smith.

Saying that he is better or as good as any of those names is not a stretch at all, and every single one of those started last season or will likely start this coming season. I'd say he's towards the middle of the pack.

You mean like when he went running to the media last season complaining about Cam...which allowed it to be billed as some type of beef (which I think was even referenced in this article)?

I would advise against those thoughts....around here if you utter anything about Smith that isn't ball juggling praise they come after you....

I'm probably the biggest Smith fan on the Huddle, hence my username; lineal89. So if one of his biggest fans can expect more from his favorite NFL player why shouldn't the ones that's going to come after me do as well.

I think that just helps prove Smitty's point...  you get to pick any one of those guys, or are you looking for their replacement?   whether you consider them 16th, 19th, 26th, or 32nd best...  they all will most likely be out of the league as a starter sooner than later...

    • The qb position has been eliminated due to the low probability of the success of selecting one early.  This part got me hollering the most "You can't get so hyperfocused on one position(even the most important position in football like QB) that you just draft a QB and any QB. This leads to wasted draft picks and years of torment as you are stuck in a development cycle for nothing." "Also, if we don't get our franchise QB this draft....oh well. We got the next dozen or so drafts to keep taking cracks at it."
    • Then be prepared to draft a QB the next year. When the best one would surely not play here. Then what?   This fanbase keeps preaching patience, while other bottom feeders are finding their QB's. Panthers fans are becoming blind. The losing has caught up to the fanbase. We preaching patience when we have been a bad franchise ever since Tepper took over.   But because you don't like Sanders or Ward we should pass on a QB. Then when they become franchise changers you feel bad.   Everyone knows this franchise will continue to suck until they get a franchise QB. Chasing LBs and DEs isn't helping us. We can address the defense after we get the QB.   Cmon Hepcat don't let the blind lead you they blind for a reason!
    • Imagine posting on a forum to mock people for posting on a forum. Whether you realize it or not you just played yourself. LOL  Guess what? We've heard people like you lecture people with opinions about how *insert former Panthers front office or coach moron* knows best and we're all just idiots. This forum exists to discuss Panthers football and that includes *GASP* sharing opinions that may be contrary to what the Panthers end up doing.  If you just want a circle jerk of an echo chamber reassuring you that everything the Panthers do is brilliant despite the abysmal record on the field, I think they made a Discord group for that.
