"I wouldn't let Mark Sanchez throw me a paper bag sandwich"- Steve Smith

While he could have been defending cam, he still said the comment, and meant what he said. Everybody is screaming out-of-context but this is one of the lesser "taken out-of-context" compared to the norm.

Not really. I only gave a brief glimpse of the conversation.  It was a pretty heated argument and almost no one would have found fault with what Smitty said had they heard the entire conversation. If anyone can find the original broadcast on WFNZ then I would suggest listening to it.

This was severly takin out of context.  Smitty was defending Cam yesterday talking about he woudln't take anyone over him.

I was wondering if this was the case. Somebody was looking for a juicy quote, and they got one by bending what he said. Didn't think Smitty would have said something like that for no reason.

If a great sandwich is in a brown paper bag, is it any less of a great sandwich?  Is inadequacy innate in a brown paper bag that it confers derision to whatever is placed in it?  If you placed Kate Upton in a brown paper bag, is she transformed into your average 1980s Saints fan?

do you know the context?

No I do not know the context...but I do know that as veteran and leader, he could've choosen his words more carefully, regardless of the context. The media doesn't focus on the context, only the words and Smith knows this. I'm one of Steve Smith's biggest fans, but things like this shouldn't be said...

Sometimes I can't tell if you are highly intelligent or missing a chromosome.

Sanchez is a good game manager. Only problem is NFL teams are moving away from those types. Teams are looking for dynamic QBs with big arms. Thank god we already have ours with Cam. It's time now to complete this thing with our new cap space and get us some young dynamic receivers. I'm loving the direction the panthers are going.

If you are going to speak your opinion about someone, I don't think any NFL players need to pussy foot.

Everyone needs to be guarded with their words, actions and tones; especially when they are key pieces in a large puzzle, like the Panthers. Until we establish ourselves, we are an incomplete puzzle. Words should be spoken to aid in the completion of the puzzle. Steve Smith is a leader, I expect him to lead.
