Gantt is a joke glad they ran him off from the Observer, Steve Smith wasn't targeting Sanchez.

While he could have been defending cam, he still said the comment, and meant what he said. Everybody is screaming out-of-context but this is one of the lesser "taken out-of-context" compared to the norm.

 

no, the out of context remarks are still very applicable. you have to look at the context of the conversation. many are making it look like smitty just spontaneously threw that out there or he just has some vendetta against sanchez, but it was just a comment made in a conversation about people comparing someone like sanchez to newton saying that since sanchez experienced a lot of success early on (again, two AFCCGs in his first two seasons) that meant that sanchez was better. smith refuted that with his comment about sanchez.

 

did he mean it? yep. was he just being malicious and picking/piling on sanchez? nope. but that is how it's being spun without context. it's not like smitty was the one that brought it up. it was all about how he'd rather have cam throwing him the ball than sanchez. it could have been several other QBs he would have said the same thing about. sanchez just happened to be the one that someone else brought up.

but that's the way it's being spun and accepted. that it was just a random vindictive and mean attack on sanchez and that it was him that prompted the discussion.

There's gotta be some grey area to the sandwich and it's catchability.
