DO NOT CARRY THEM AROUND EVERYWHERE..

then they will expect to be carried everywhere and you don't have an independent kid.. let them have their floor time.. hold them by their hands and let them hold their body weight up on their legs- Way before they can walk- like once they gain control of their neck and head, you are good to go with "DAD STUFF"- work those muscles! Have fun with em!

FYI a lot of babies also don't even like pacifiers

Mine didn't.

you poor poor man

the pacifier became my greatest asset- in infancy stages.. you had to fight to get rid of it in toddler stages but SOOO worth it when you just need a quiet moment or to get them to go to bed

I don't know if y'all are going the breastfeeding route, or if you've bought bottles.  But nipple confusion can happen, thankfully it never happened to us.

I attribute that to using  Tommee Tippee bottles, they look and feel more like a boobie than a regular bottle.

Sometimes when I'm lonely, I pull them out and...never mind.

Your baby is going to be unique obviously. My daughter loved the pacifiers that blackpanther says suck and they were the only ones she would take. It's pretty easy to rig up a lanyard for one too which you will likely want to do with any type. Those soothie ones are said to be the most like a woman's nipple though so they are great if your wife is nursing.

Another piece of advice would be to not tip toe around. If you do the baby will turn into a light sleeper. We lived normally and our daughter sleeps through tv, barking dogs and anything else.

Kurbez should be able to help here... it's been well over a decade since I've had to take care of an infant...

My advice is let mom do the hard baby stuff and you help her out with the rest... cleaning, cooking, etc.

My other advice is buy lots and lots of diapers.

AFTER the baby is born...but never before!

My son came out too big for N diapers

He was in size 2 diapers within 2 weeks.

we are nursing, but I'm not sure what bottles/pacifiers we got, mainly because during the baby shower registration I ran around scanning xboxes and stuff because I'm mature.

luckily my wife has eight trillion friends that are knowledgable on these things

get that kid onto Ebay as soon as you get it home from the hospital....bidding will drop once people discover they've been altered by your parenting skills...people pay a higher premium for new babies with no luggage.
