With 8.46 million do we go shopping or sign Hardy?

I understand the need at safety, but the thought of hardy possibly being a free agent scares the sh*t out of me I would love to lock him up before we went shopping, but that's just me.

If this is Hardy's last year on his contract, how about giving him a small boost in pay with a two year contract (this year and next year) for his play last year.  Then if he continues to play well this year, give him the big pay-long term deal next year.

This Greg Hardy deal is going to be a chess game, do you extend him now before he has a monster year? Or do you wait till next off-season assuming with the addition of Star,short his production might not be as equal to last season.......tough decision

I think we will lock up hardy after this year. it will give DG more evaluation time of the team and decide whos worth their money and whos not. We'll cut/restructure those who are not at the end of the year and free up more room for his contract.

Gettleman knows first hand what a beast defensive line can do.  I trust whatever decision he makes will be the best for the team.

 

That said, I really hope we pick up some offensive line help.
