Gettlemen continues to get criticism for not bringing in a WR

100% completely OT: an inferior site was revisiting last year's week 1 vs the Bucs. Man.. this gif... Really -- screw the WR talk right now and hope this crap doesn't happen anymore. LT, LG & C all whiff on blocks and the RG gets man handled to the ground... behold as our UDFA signee Byron Bell is the only linemen making his block

Makes you wonder what was actually asked of them on that play....that is just almost beyond bad OL play.

Yeah, that was horrible. And wasn't the only play that looked that way in that game.

Weak at the top...doesn't equal weak class. It was a very good WR class. Weak at the top basically means no physical freak show.

Was viewed by most experts as a very good WR and S class....

Which is why I would not have reached for Hopkins at 14.

I would have been fine and happy with either CB or WR at 44. But, our staff had KK much higher rated I guess.

But, Allen, Patton, etc were not big upgrades over what we have. Like I said, WR anywhere but 14 would have been gone with me.

But bc there wasn't a Megatron...doesn't mean a WR then becomes a reach. Going by that criteria would make most WRs reaches...

I mean in fairness....none of these guys have played yet....yet you ink Star in as legit and the WRs less than what we have.

No way to know....but if just looking at 2013....just by position alone, I think Hopkins has better 2013 odds of success than any DT.

But I have no issue win either DT....just hated the double down. would have preferred Star and then a WR, S.

but we were 14th against the run last year.  we werent that bad against the run.  I get the Star pick, I really do, but I don't think we were bad enough were we needed to double dip on the position, especially when we had other needs.

although i do agree most of the wr on roster probably couldn't handle the premier cb's in the league but they should be able to work over the 2nd and nickel cb's. o line needs to be fix in order to to do this plus lining up Smitty in slot while letting our lesser wr's take on the premier cb's would work as well idk I'm just speculating there should be ways to get these guys open.

hey! lets laugh at those guys that don't appreciate mediocrity like true fans do!!!!!!!

Not spending the entire offseason groaning about sh*t we can't change is appreciating mediocrity?

Well damn I am just embarrassed. Thank you for showing me the light good sir.

Down with the Panthers for not drafting a wide receiver!!!!!!!!!!!

I trust Getts. I saw KK's tape and he was a great pass rusher. Dwan is 32 man, and was good last year but that well will dry up. If Getts (especially Getts) and the scouts saw him as bpa -- I'd tend to trust their skills vs myself or any other YouTube game tape evaluator. Patton dropped to the end of the 4th for a reason.

I get the "I want my team to be better" but dude not every facet of a team is going to be corrected in a year (especially with how many handicaps Getts has had to face). He took what they scouted as BPA, so kudos to him for not delivering a steamy pile at our doorstep
