Gettlemen continues to get criticism for not bringing in a WR

Don't laugh, but "Yes." I think this team could win a Super Bowl in 2013. If Cam steps up, this team can beat anyone. The odds are not good, but they will continue to get better each year, if Gettlemen continues to improve us through sensible, frugal means..

If Cam steps up? Cam has carried this offense the past two seasons. How about the damn OL step up and blocks so Cam isn't running for his life every other play. Or how about the damn WRs get some separation and get open. How about the defense holds a late lead in the 4th. You say if Cam steps up this team can beat anyone...well if the other TEAM members carry their weight, we can beat anyone.

Star was at one time projected to be a top 5 pick. no one can blame a GM for getting him at 14. Now, next year there is no excuse for not picking a WR even if the D sucks and the O is prolific this year. We go all offense in the draft next year.

As I have been saying I don't know if it is the right decision or not, but Gettlemen is banking on our defense. That is where all of resources went. So I don't want to hear it this year if our offense fails to put put points constantly.

This season is about our top 5 defense carrying us.

This.

But, you know it won't be like this. As soon as the offense goes out there and scores 25 or fewer points, these same folks in here talking about the offense is fine, will be coming hard at the offense, specifically Cam. I'm with you, though. The way everyone is talking, our defense should be top 5, and carry us. Don't wanna hear any complaints about the offense.

The only receiver I truly wanted that we were in clear position to draft all things considered is Quinton Patton in the 4th.  Other than that, I'm fine with the route Gettleman has taken.

Also, I'm not banking on Hixon but if he can continue to be that solid 3-4 WR that he is (a la Jason Avant), I think that bodes well for us and we honestly have the offensive capacity to make it to the playoffs as is.

Smith, may indeed be entering the twilight of his career, and yeah, Brandon LaFell is Brandon LaFell but its not like we're not going to be able to move the chains.

I'd like a young WR to groom with Cam and it's unfortunate he doesn't have that yet.  Hopefully it will be addressed soon but again, we have a playoff caliber offense.  If RGII could do it with those wideouts in Washington, I mean come on people.

Especially this year. Cam does not need to step up and be an elite QB. With all the talent on defense...we just need Cam to play the role of Alex Smith.

Reality will set in this year for Wash...those WRs aren't good enough and will show. That lame scheme they ran last year won't last 2 consecutive seasons

I hope you are being sarcastic

Nope. You want an explosive, consistent offense? Go get the players that will produce such results. Don't give me an offense with a winding down his career number one WR...and a third year QB...and an offensive Coordinator that no one would hire in the same position.

Andy Dalton on the other hand has zero excuse for not putting up stats and that offense not scoring in bunches. The Bengals have consistently added weapons for him since he was drafted.

The Panthers not so much.

But once again. I don't know if this is the wrong approach. Time will tell.
