I never even liked Joe Rogan until I saw his stand up.  Love listening to his podcast and radio appearances as well.

He picks great topics to discuss but the more you listen to his podcast, this is true.

 

He is good at relaying cool sh*t and information in a comedic and Hicks-esque way.  That's his forte.

I wouldn't say he is an idiot.  He's not really bright or anything, he just talks about a lot of different, interesting stuff.  And he's really funny about it.

 

I'd also say he is pretty self-depricating, so he is not being pretentious with his information.
