Yeah, the only reason Barnes was picked over MKG was because of team success.

I've already shown in another thread how MKG easily had the better all around season. Not to say that my word > all, but simple statistics and advanced statistics all easily support MKG having the better season.

MKG was easily a top 5 rookie, only behind Lillard, Davis, and Drummond. Although, you could certainly make arguments for guys like Beal and Waiters. However, one could counter that argument with defense and rebounding (MKG was a top notch defensive player his rookie season, and a top notch rebounder for a SF).

You can thank Dunlap's stupid ass for this.  MKG wouldn't see the court for 99% of second halves this season because of his retarded "rotations."  MKG started the season off fine and showed flashes of greatness and then Dunlap put him in the fridge.

Ask yourself this question.

Would GS be better with Barnes or MKG?

Would CHA be better with Barnes or MKG?

Barnes is better..period.  I love MKG and am glad he is a Bobcat, but Barnes has unlimited potential and is finally starting to realize it.  The list looks pretty accurate to me.

if harrison barnes played for a non-playoff team, he wouldn't have made it IMO

This sounds like a UNC hater comment.

Do you have any evidence to back this up? It's not like he plays for the lakers dude. Most people didn't even hear about the Warriors until 2 weeks ago. Steph didn't even make the NBA All Star game!

Maybe you missed Barnes light up the Spurs this series. If he didn't get hurt last night, there's a strong possibility for a game 7.

I had to enlighten BigQueefDaddy in the NCAA forum about Barnes. He made some asinine comment that Barnes had to come back to UNC for another year to improve his draft stock. LOL.

Harrison Barnes hit the jackpot by coming back for another season at UNC. He absolutely went to one of the best possible situations and that GS team's potential is off the chart. If they can get a legitimate big man that can bang down low & with a healthy David lee....that team is going to be at the top of the Western Conference for years to come.

Steph, Thompson, and Harry are a serious contender for best shooting trio in the NBA.

I'm just saying that his particular supporting cast seems to have helped him 1) perform better and 2)gain more visibility than MKG.

    • I don't really like the phrase, "moral victory". I get what's meant by it, but does that mean that if you do the opposite (play poorly but win) it's an immoral victory? 🤔
    • I blame Evero because he is overrated. Vance Joseph created the defense in Denver that he took credit for. Wilks ran the ball down his throat and Darnold had a 103.8 rtg.  Last year we were decent in yards allowed, and horrible in everything else. Only reason? We kept giving up good field position.  He's had his choice of players to bring in since his scheme is so "complicated." Maybe he should stop trying to be so fancy like running Cover 4 on 3rd and 1 earlier and focus on fundamentals like tackling. These years of Eric Washington, Phil Snow, and Evero must have gotten you confused on what a real defense looked like. Go back and watch the McDermott and Wilks years- this dude is sofT.
    • I tried to make it a point in the opening post that I don't think the offense is a finished product. I think we still need more talent at WR, better play calling, catch more consistently, elimate ridiculous penalties,  and be more consistency in scoring points. I'm just saying, they look markedly better than last year imo. They have scored 20 or more in 6 games and 30 or more in 2 games. And that's particularly notable considering they only mustered 10 points and 3 points in first 2 games of this year and they got blanked on 0 points two games in a row to wrap up last season . I'd say that's a market improvement.  I'm not crowning them and saying we have a top 10 offense or anything.  I'm comparing them to themselves in recent history.
