I think Gettleman will look to bring someone for vet minimum after TC cuts. Pro scouting is what he does, and he's always talking about the bottom 50 percent of the roster.

i voted for Wes because going into the year he was considered a mid-higher round DE. he would disappear some during the year while i watched, but the talent is there. he got outplayed by the other DE on USC roster.

I get the idea they are done with the hybrid defense to an extent and will be looking to find a classic 4-3 DE as opposed the then OLB types. I am probably completely wrong.

When we have Short, Cole, and Star on the field with Davis, Kuechly, Klein, and Beason, then we don't need that 4th DE as much. I smell a 3-4 rotation in the works.......

This thread begs the question why was keiser cut.  I'm unsure what to think about the DE rotation yet.  If you figure he was cut due to being undersized.... and gettle has his things about hogs... then put the remaining guys on a scale and you have your answer

Neither Davis, Kuechly, Klein, nor Beason are built to be 3-4 OLB's.

 

Some people just don't understand the difference in putting 4 good 4-3 LB's on the field and actually having a roster capable of playing a 3-4.
