Panthers won't cut Armanti Edwards anytime soon

I know this is overdone, but to prove my point about him playing scared just look at the first minute of this highlight video. This WAS how Armanti played, regardless if he was a QB or WR, he needed to try and make plays, he didn't.

Maybe and just maybe with Marty not around for this TC it will light a fire under Armanti's as$ and he'll be more aggressive and play like a man who may be out of work if he doesn't.

That's just the point.  He's playing like someone who is worried about losing his livelihood.  In college he played like he had nothing to lose.  Of course, he was running out of the backfield instead, he was playing quarterback (not learning a new position), he was not playing against NFL caliber players (some exceptions here, of course).

i watched his entire career at app state and i don't think i've ever seen a quarterback who was less afraid of contact than him.  he was fearless even against michigan and LSU and took some nasty hits in both games.

he just seems different in the NFL.  like he loses his concentration when he's trying to make catches in traffic and balls seem to get away from him.  he's clearly not a natural receiver and he isn't big or fast enough to make up for it with hard work.

There is something to be said about playing in college and playing for your livelihood. I think he is afraid to make mistakes, there can't be any other reason for this, like you said he was fearless in college. He's gonna get cut though, he's been given chances and he didn't take advantage of them.

I think this is the key right here.  Some guys can make the transition and some can't.  So far, Armanti looks to be in the latter group.

Armanti has gotten the ball in his hands, regardless if he is a natural wide reciever or not. And hasn't even attempted to make plays, this is the bottom line.  The Redskins game is evidence of that.

Smith, LaFell, Hixon are locks

That leaves Ginn, Edwards, Gettis, Pilares, Adams, and Lamont Bryant (don't count that guy out)

I say we keep six, seven max

All of those guys not as locks have question marks individually

I think we keep seven and it looks like Smith, Lafell, Hixon, Gettis, Ginn, Adams, and Edwards

Ginn is a lock....just b/c of special teams.  I think Adams is as well.

Pilares, Gettis, Edwards....IMO are get chopped.

Wide open pass and wide open return. He hasn't shown the fire that I've seen him play with.

umm yea, he got open and caught the pass on a clutch play that set up a game winning touchdown. that's making a play. he had very few touches but he made the most out of them. he did what he was suppose to do. unforutnately it came too late in his career. i think he gets picked up as a #3 reciever somewhre else, when we cut him. he's cheap and servicable.
