Thomas Keiser cut

Recommended Posts

It's like Getts crapped in everyone's Cheerios today. Would he make it on our roster at LB? No. Can he work as a DT? Umm no. Is he a badass DE that we can't live without? No.

Getts and the coaches already know who this guy is on and off the field and that seems to be enough for them to invest their time elsewhere. It could be he's not cutting it in the classroom or his injury is lingering. Whatever the reason, they know more about him than we do. Yeah he's a class act and a very likable guy, but outside of that he's expendable.

I don't think he qualifies as a scrub....he made too many plays when given a shot

He definitely was not a scrub.  But, he was a LB/DE tweener.

Not quick enough to play LB for us and too small to be a 3 down DE.  He is build to play in a 3-4 scheme.

Gettleman likes larger and more powerful DE's....go take a look at NY.

This should not be that surprising....and it is not a big deal.  Keiser was the 4th or 5th DE on the depth chart.

Are there any benefits towards cap space for cutting Keiser?

Seems weird that we would cut him this early. I hope he gets picked up by another team.

only if he's one of the Top 51 salaries, and then it would only be the difference between Keiser's figure and the figure of the new 51st salary (so probably not too much)

Keiser's found a new home already - San Diego. I wonder if RR put in a good word to Pagano
