if he is cut after june 1, the panthers are only on the hook for half of his cap space this season...freeing up 4-5 million in cap space to use.

 

Think of how much space we could save if we cut Smitty, Luke, Lafell, Gross, Beast, CJ, Hardy, Stewart, Cam, and Olsen. We could sign a BUNCH of people!!! Brilliant!!!

For 2013, cutting Williams would give us a direct cap hit of $8,200,000 and we'd carry $9,600,000 in dead money. A total $17,800,000 hit.

For 2013, cutting Stewart would give us a direct cap hit of $3,015,000 and we'd carry $14,415,000 in dead money. A total $17,430,000 hit. Not much difference in the long run.

Logic would dictate that, unless we get a trade offer, we will have both Williams and Stewart as our RB's in 2013. But I know logic can be lost in the Huddle.

So pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaase stop with the "cut Williams" threads and comments and start supporting all Panthers players.

Logic dictates only Williams taking a paycut or being a June 1 cut are options....trade doesn't help.

high odds that a year from now....several of them aren't panthers. That is the why it work with a new GM...and definitely one brought in to fix a mess.

some cuts, some retires, some non extensions. Outside of Cam and Luke...many of those guys could be gone very soon for one reason or another
