Are you actually going to argue that Steve and Gross aren't declining....getting worse as each season goes by at this point in their careers?

They aren't constants. 2011 Gross > 2012 Gross. 12 Gross will be better than the guy we have this year.....just a reality of football.

Staying the same....with some players does mean you can be getting stronger as they develop. Cam for example.

If your wishful thinking was true....studs would ever retire, be cut or move on...but guys like Steve, Gross, Williams played their best ball YEARS ago. That doesn't mean they suck....but each year they are a lesser version of what they where

They say the same thing essentially.  They both pretty much say that Cam can be a good QB but he can't do it himself and the supporting cast hasn't been doing their part.

The Panthers draft made sense to me. You heard Gettleman say it on that panthers.com video. "Every move we make today, think long term, big picture". You don't draft rookies to fill holes. Rookies come in to learn and be the future. Hixon can give us 35 catches.

On the surface, this may be true. But... If Lafell, Hixon, or anyone, for that matter, has a good year. They very well could be resigned. So, a long term player could be on our roster already.
