Eric Winston wants 3-4 million..

who we have at RG would be better if they had someone better at RT.

The reverse is also true. Im not saying Bell is awesome but he is better right now than anyone we have at rg. Also edge pressure Cam can deal with by moving, pressure up the middle is much harder to avoid. Tackles get paid all the money and get the press but you can argue guards are more important. Tackles are also easier to help with chip blocks etc if they need it.

i saw a tweet from andrew brandt or someone like that this morning saying that they've heard from many vets that they don't see what they are being offered from teams getting any better as the offseason continues so they are pretty much just going to wait until right before training camp to sign anywhere.

can't say i blame them. why put in extra work when your pay isn't going to go up?

For most vets at most positions, I could get behind this. I just feel that with our trouble on the line. It behooves us to get it together quicker than for some other positions.

I guess if we get a guy we can trust, it would not be too big of a deal if he didn't get here until camp was here. Or even later. Dwan got here late and that worked out okay.

I think the only thing that saves D-Will at this point would be a complete restructure down to vet min. Regardless of restructure, the bonus has already been paid and will affect the cap no matter what.

Makes me wonder if hes been approached by Gettleman to do that? Jordan Gross made a big example. DeAngelo seems like that type of guy too but I think he would lose a lot more capital than Gross did. I wonder if Gettleman is done restructuring or making other players take paycuts?

From the teams' perspectives, of course they'd rather get the FA into the fold sooner rather than later. But, from the players' perspectives, if the same money will be available later on, I'd spend some time chilling with the family in the offseason and sign on right before training camp to miss all the OTAs.

Players also know that injuries to other players could also elevate their value on the market.

Nothing to lose by waiting.

Eric Winston, RT

The best player left on the other side of the offensive line, Winston has started every regular-season game since 2007 … and he was cut in both 2012 and ’13. Miami appeared to be a natural fit until the Dolphins signed Tyson Clabo. Just 29, Winston ought to find another team willing to give him an opportunity, if he lowers his asking price enough.

Possible landing spots: Carolina, Dallas, Tennessee

Saw this, too lazy to look through entire post to see if was inserted.

There has got to be something up with this guy other than money. The Texans dumped him and have a turnstile at RT since (not interest in signing him after the Chiefs), the Chiefs just dumped him 1 year after a signing a multi-year deal, the Phins picked Clabo over him....I don't entirely trust a guy that has talent but keeps getting dumped.
