Ok so my two best friends are Irish/Hispanic. Which means I don't know how the hell i'm awake right now.  F mex restaurants, get some hispanic friends, because those mofo's know how to do Cinco De Mayo right. Great food, cheap good beer and good company all night long.

What do you mean, "On the Border isn't a real Mexican Restaurant"?

But srsly, there are some pretty good places around here.  It's just that middle class white people don't tend to go to them.

El Cerro Grande. El Parillada. "The Frying Pan of Delight", as I call it. A big cast iron pan full of grilled chicken, pork, beef, and chorizo, with grilled peppers and onions underneath, and a plate with lettuce, tomato, guacamole, rice, and beans. And a bunch of tortillas. Make your own fajitas or burritos. Enough for 4 people, 20 bucks.

Also, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday invented by Americans. They don't celebrate it in Mexico.

That's not true. It is celebrated more in the US and Sept 16th is the (much) bigger holiday down there, but cinco de mayo is celebrated in Mexico. More heavily in Puebla, obviously.

False, it's just more of a regional holiday for the Mexican state of Puebla. People in the US get it confused as a Mexico's independence day, when all it really celebrates in Mexico is a victory over the French army in the "Battle of Puebla".

There are plenty of mexicans here, if you cant find a good mexican place in NC then you arent looking hard enough. Just dont go for the chain places, and remember that food trucks are always good. If you still cant find a good place, drive over to the nearest construction site and yell "Donde esta la comida buena"
