Would You Trade A 1st Rounder For Victor Cruz?

IMO, the reason we are still waiting on a WR is.... wait for it.... cuz Gettelemen doesn't see anything out there, that we can afford, that is an upgrade.

Lafell, contrary to popular belief, is a solid #2. Hixon can play multiple positions. Ginn is going to be given an opportunity to play WR. With Smitty, that is 4WRs. We have 10 guys fighting for those last two spots. Unless you bring in somebody that can push Lafell. You might a well pass. We have passed. We may be set. Some are fine with this for the time being. Others are more inclined to believe we are in dire straights where WR is concerned.

BAM this dude gets it.

Why bring in another #3 or #4 reciever?

no.

this in itself kind of just ends the thread.

we don't have the money to sign him.

more than that...he 's just not going to leave the new york area. he's got too much stuff going on and on top of that it's his home.

Playing hindsight. I wonder what our 3rd would have been? Would they have made the move? I would say, with this yeas class, probably not. But, in my book the 3rd is my cut off point for realistic targets. After that. If you got a pick, and there is a kid your scout likes. Go ahead and grab him. But, don't expect the same talent level.

I just don't see where folks are so sure we could have upgraded our WR corp this year? No WR in this class holds a candle to Star and Short. These two kids just made our D top shelf.

Hey, I understand the WR Complex. The fear that you just don't have enough weapons. You absolutely need to land that next big thing. In a more perfect, unhurdoged, world, we can sign some of those top level type talents.

Some folks around here seem to forget that this is not a perfect world. Yet!

The problem with Cruz would be the contract, IMO. We just can't afford him with Cam and Hardy to consider.

But in terms of compensation, a 1st round pick is absolutely fair for Cruz. He's a legit #1 WR and still young with many a productive year ahead of him. I'd do that deal in a heartbeat if we could afford his contract.

And I wouldn't overlook the possibility of the Giants trading him either. You have to consider, they just drafted a WR in the 2nd round last year and already have Hakeem Nicks on the roster. If Cruz wants more than they feel he's worth, it could become another Revis situation.
