Let’s not forget that having above-average backup linemen and linebackers in the rotation will allow everyone to stay fresh. This will translate to getting off the field quicker, and as the game wears on, they will get stronger.

All of this will add up to a time of possession advantage that will wind and wear down the opposition. This will be immensely beneficial for a defense that has been prone to fourth-quarter collapses. Of the 19 losses in the Cam Newton/Ron Rivera era, nine times Carolina was leading in the fourth quarter and once more they were tied.

This. Almost half our losses have involved defensive meltdowns late in the game.  It'll be so much better to not have that terrible wrenching, rock feeling in my gut when it's our defense on the field at the end of the game.

How is getting pressure on the QB old school? Look at the best CBs, they all had lines that generated pressure.

you can have a good pass defense with a solid pass rush and a shut down run game even if you have a bad secondary.

if you have a stud or two in the secondary but a weak DL that can't generate much pressure and can't stop the run, your pass D is probably going to suck.

it doesn't matter what school you go to, that doesn't change.
