i hope you guys realize the premise of this movie is about a guy who WEARS a computerized, metal outfit, that has a talking, intuitive computer that is weaponized and he is Zuckerberg rich and drives the coolest bestest cars??

I loved how throughout the entire movie the Extremis soldiers were nearly impossible to kill, but during the last 10 minutes of the movie they started dropping like flies.

I wouldn't say they dropped like flies. They were knocking out suits pretty easy and Stark himself went through 3 or 4 suits.

Loved it, loved the ending, there was nothing bad about it at all. It was shown that the suit would kill an Extremis if a hole was blown through their chest and they knew that, and had a lot of fully powered up suits to do it with. Downey Jr. is just so great in this role and he makes it that much better. In fact I think I can say I enjoyed this movie about the same as Avengers which was great but not everyone can shine as an actor when they are in the room with Downey.

Well, the movie wasn't even close to Avengers IMO though.  I would say it was better than Iron Man 2, but Iron Man 1 is still the best of the three.   I think what is missing from 3 is that the villain/villains were boring and cliche.  When you go see a Marvel comics movie, you want a villain that is as good and deep as the hero is.  I felt some of the action was rehashed and felt a bit of copying with the plane scene (from Batman, etc)?   You either go over the top with a villain or you go gritty more realistic, not in the middle.  The baddies were too terminatorish too.  I enjoyed it, but I didn't see anything new or exciting.

I think the Batman Triology has spoiled us all lol.

I just got back from it. I will say, that in the context of the film itself, it was an enjoyable flick. The first half hour or so was really good, though a lot of times throughout the film, mainly in that first half hour, the acting felt a little cheesy and the comedy a little forced. I agree this kind of felt like RDJ's Stark: The Movie at times.

I'm not a huge stickler for comic movies sticking directly to the canon, but felt they should have here and it would've been a better overall movie. A lot of stuff was changed from comic lore, and then wasn't fleshed out, or explained at all, or just truthfully wasn't as entertaining as some of the aspects from the original Extremis storyline. It was exciting to see Extremis in a comic book film though, but I just wish they had left some parts be.

Don't even get me started on the Mandarin. I wasn't as angry or upset as I may seem, but it was a decision that put a massive hit in what the movie could have been in my opinion. It wasn't so much that the Mandarin was what he was-a lame front- though that was a dumb decision as well that hurt the film ( I mean the Mandarin is Tony Stark's Venom, his Lex Luthor. Why would you do that to him when you could've picked someone else and had the same role filled with less backlash?) It was more the fact that he was a joke. The first thing we actually hear from the Mandarin was some silly poop joke. It was just pathetic and a major example of this movie not taking itself seriously enough. Yes, I get that the head of AIM (which, btw, their inclusion was one d the highlights of the film) was supposed to be the "real" Mandarin but that wasn't expounded on nearly enough for me to buy into that.

As its also been said, there wasn't nearly enough REAL Iron Man. In fact the coolest Iron Man moment of the movie-when he rescued all those who fell off the plane- turned out to be a bummer when it was revealed it was Tony doing a trick we had already seen him do multiple times already in the film. Come to think of it, did Tony have one actual moment of triumph in this film that involved him actually being in the armor?

Anyways, that's all I gotta say. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't what it could've been. Looking forward to Thor: The Dark World and hoping that's a darker film to kind of try and give a darker take on what's happening in the MMU since the Avengers.

I thought it was average. I thought it had too many jokes and too many tries at being funny. Not enough Iron Man whoop ass. They also didn't explain Mandarins experiment very well; the bad guys turning into lava people and exploding required too much leap of faith.

Spoilers below

I thought it was good, and a proper finale to the Iron Man "trilogy". When I heard the "blue da ba dee" song in the opening titles I knew this was going to be pretty light in tone so I wasn't exactly expecting "The Dark Knight". I think they could have done the villains better, but it was smart to make the villain not TOO big or strong because then he would need his Avengers crew.

I especially liked the end where Tony had the shrapnel taken out and he was driving away with his "dummy" computer, so he can rebuild his suits. He had really come a long way since the first movie. That's the thing about this character. It's not about the suit. It's about Tony Stark. He is Iron Man. So people bitching about not seeing the suit enough, that is the point.

The after credits scene was hilarious as well. Just perfect.

I pretty much agree with Growl's review...

I saw it Saturday and give it a B-. It was good, not great... didn't really live up to my expectations honestly.

Not nearly enough Iron Man.

His suits were way too easily destroyed, as opposed to the other movies and the Avengers he seemed almost indestructible.

In this one, those villains just burned right thru them...

I'm assuming the "twist" everyone was talking about was the Mandarin not being that dude with the beard and pony tail? Not much of a twist imo... kinda cheesy and they tried too hard to make it humorous.

Overall it was decent, but just kind of meh... on the flip side my boys loved it... so I'm good.
