Future Cap Space? Keeping our Core

Well one thing some fans are going to have to accept is, the days of overpaying are over.

After how Gettleman played hardball with resigning Munnerlyn, you can see a glimpse of what's in store.

He will pay for the guys he feels we need, but he will make a fair offer that will not cripple the team.

Yep.

And even though that approach may cost us some guys we'd like to keep, I prefer it. That's the right way to go if you want long term success.

Can't get too emotionally attached, its a team game, and I hope our days of shelling out absurd contracts are over.

Either you take your fair offer and show you want to play in Carolina....or you GTFO....that goes for anyone as far as I'm concerned.

We CANNOT be put in this position again.

Rid ourselves of Deangelo, Beason, Godfrey, Hangman.

Hardy and Cam are top priority.

i was going to say that we can find replacements for all these guys next year, but it could be that the answer is already on our roster.

well, maybe not godfrey.

everyone is replaceable, except maybe cam and keek and even then we shouldn't be afraid to let them walk if they get too greedy.

I think Keek is already more indipensable to our defense than Cam is to our offense.    Unless Cam steps up his game quite a bit in the next couple years, he may be looking at a fairly ( what he sees as)  meager contract offer from Gettleman.

I don't think so man. Cam makes the difference between a dangerous panther offense and a Matt Moore journeyman okay offense. He's done quite well in his first two seasons and he's kept us in a lot games.

Cam is off to a historic start...his offensive production has been vastly underplayed by the national media.

He is our offense.  Some people think that Steve Smith (2005) and DeAngelo (2008) actually still exist.

and this is why this fan base is a joke.

Hardy is going to be worth the money. We have a solid interior with star and short pn rookie contracts for the next 4 years. Paying hardy would insure our dominant dline for atleast that amout of time; a very good investment. Think freeney and mathis. Great investment. Beason and williams have ready replacements. We can draft godfreys in next year draft
