It would be un American not to choose a nice sweet sweet Apple Pie topped with a smooth swirl of whipped cream.

Well, haven't seen much spring in Sweden yet but someone mentioned Rhubarb so I would go with this extremly simple kind:

 

You need:

About 3 1 foot rhubarbs

1/2 cup suger

1 cup wheat flour

1/2 cup oatmeals

150g (about 5,5 ounces) butter

 

1. Butter the pie plate

2. Chop the rhubars (you can peel to if you want to) and add enough to cover the plate

3. Sprinkle some suger on top

(New bowl)

4. Mix the suger, flour, oatmeals and butter and work it with the finger tips or a fork

5. Add it on top of the rhubarb

6. Bake in 400F for 20-30 minutes (until it gets a golden color). 

 

It wont hold together so eat off a plate and it is great with ice cream. Notice that you can score some extra points by claiming it is healthy (it is not really but it does have oatmeals) and that you made it from scratch. 

 

You can substitue to pretty much any seasonal fruit/berry you like. 

 

(If you, like I would have to, uses frozen rhubarb add some potato flour on top of the rubarbs (it sucks up the water released)).
