NHL Draft Lottery

The NHL will hold their annual draft lottery tonight and the Canes hold just over an 8% chance of getting that number one pick; otherwise they will select fifth (I believe).

If the Canes manage to win the lottery, it is a safe bet that they will choose Seth Jones. If they fail to win the lottery and pick fifth, keep an eye out for Aleksander Barkov, Valeri Nichshkin, and Darnell Nurse.

Mackinnon wouldn't be a terrible consolation prize. Mackinnon and Huberdeau will be a nasty top line in the future. Its also possible that the Av's go Mackinnon first bc they already have 3-4 defenseman prospects that are solid.
