I think about Jared Allen and how many sacks he got just because the QB couldn't step up in the pocket. Hardy and CJ are about to eat good.

I know Hardy got a lot of the attention this year but watching CJ in his highlights, he is such a Bear when he comes off the ball, he just mauls all the way to the QB

 

CJ is our best end.  Even before Hardy really came into his own, CJ was doing his thing at a high level without Star. If he would have been injured for 3 games last year he probably would have had 15 sacks himself.  He can even get to the QB on a mush rush.  CJ's quiet and keeps to himself and shows up to dominate.  Hardy while good, was made because of CJ and Star, and uses theatrics to try and get paid.  CJ earned that contract, and he kept his mouth shut while earning it.  Hardy should learn from him.

Come on, man. We haven't had enough of a sample to judge Barner on anything.  The same is true of B-Will, McNutt and King.

I would argue that we haven't been missing a presence inside since the loss of Kris Jenkins, but rather since the loss of Ma'ake Kemoeuatu.

I like your sentiment, but I still believe he got paid too much. I feel that he earned a nice contract, but Hurney gave him what he earned and then some. If it were $10-12 mil less for the life of the contract, I would have been able to swallow it without the chaser.  But it's nice to have him regardless (Go Dawgs!). I definitely think that he's the superior DE overall, top 3-5 in the league.

I agree with that too.  I think Hurney over paid because he would have signed with Atlanta.  If he would have signed out of division/conference probably wouldn't have been that high.  Still a misstep by Hurney.  At least though CJ doesn't only show up during contract years.

Even through the preseason most players atleast flash. I haven't seen a flash or glimmer of hope. Doesn't look good.

On the talk of Barner, we've seen some flashes, but if we are going to witness him pan out he is going to need more touches to build his confidence up. He's no different from any other player in that regard. Sproles didn't start dominating right out of the gate either. Regardless, it's still too early to pass judgement on him.
