I really like Norman and Thomas. Thomas was our best corner for the length of the entire season tho.

eh...

thomas - 530 snaps, thrown at 51x for 424 yards (13.3 ypc), allowed 157 yac, qbs had 102.1 rating when throwing at him.

norman - 788 snaps, thrown at 80x for 670 yards (12.4 ypc), allowed 121 yac, qbs had 96.4 rating when throwing at him.

Josh Norman gave up 67.5 percent completion percentage. Thomas gave up 62.5 percent. In spite of being targeted 29 less times(80 vs 51) had just as many passes defended. Thomas' yards per cover snap were 1.17 vs 1.50 for Norman. The real tie breaker is how they came up and played the run. Thomas had 0 missed tackles vs RB's in 192 snaps vs the run and Norman missed 6 in 293 snaps. An argument can be made for both players and Norman has more playmaker ability/higher ceiling of the 2 but last year I think Thomas was better overall. Again I like them both and am comfortable with both starting on the outside next year.

The real problem with the panthers late in the games wasn't necessarily the secondary. The fact is, with no depth on our defensive line, we were asking our DEs who have been playing their asses off the entire game to scoot over to DT and still provide a pass rush.

I have said it before in another post (the fatties look tired as hell):
