NFL AM worst NFC draft

LaFell has been a very solid 2 and has gotten better every year. WR-2 isn't the problem.

Sorry, but he doesn't wow me. He isn't a game changer. How long do you keep a guy around and wait for him to become that guy? Two years? Three? Five?

When you have guys who are just "solid" or "decent" or "ok," whats the point? They will reach a ceiling eventually. And while you are waiting for that to happen, you are not giving other guys shots, or not bringing in anyone else at all.

There are guys like Julio Jones, and you just know. They have that x-factor, something special about them. You can see it, it is tangible, and they develop pretty quickly.

Lafell doesn't give you that "wow" feeling, nothing like it.

Personally I don't mind that we didn't go after a WR prospect in the draft, whatever. But the NFL AM guys are looking at us and saying, "who else but Steve Smith?" That's because while we may have a decent #2, he is only decent.

And I hate to beat a dead horse, but Smitty can't do it forever. Keep kicking the can down the road, whatever, but Lafell isn't a #1, and if we draft a #1 WR prospect later, nothing is certain, and THEN we are still in the same boat; #1 and then a "decent" #2. It is tiring.

If Cam had a Roddy White / Julio Jones, good effing luck to people who play us. Instead we settle. I don't like settling.

Because there was a Julio Jones in this draft.

We were top 10 defensively in 2012. Add Star and Short to Edwards and Co. Our DT rotation is going to be solid. CJ and Hardy are going to have monster years. Our LBing corp, if healthy, could be arguably the best LB corps in the game. If you have a dominate front seven. Our serviceable CBs now become above average to great. Though we didn't draft secondary help we did address it through Free Agency and UDFA.

The motor mouths that spew their garbage 99 times out of 100 know very little about the team they are putting down. Our draft was solid and all our deficiencies were addressed this off season.

Our O-Line will be better just based on last years experience. Our new picks and signings will give us depth and maybe a future star.

They weren't the only one who said we had a bad draft. Kiper gave us a C- I believe and said that we had the worst draft in our division.

You know what I found interesting? He didnt get one single pick right, not 1 in 32. He predicted 32 out of 32 fails.

He's not an evaluator, he's a smile with huge hair who is supposed to talk exciting to get you to eat his poo. He does that very well.

Didn't Kiper give us an "A" for the Clausen draft? Yeah, fug him! I feel better with him giving us a "C"

No weapons?

Maybe, a possible breakout WR.

Could it be better? Yes. But if he can't put points on the board with that then we need to start looking for another QB. A good QB will make a WR look good and vice versa! Next Year's Draft seems to have some good WR talent. We have enough to make it through this year

ED and kriegel were just bitchin about how we didn't get cam any weapons and ignored the secondary. I think in the end we'll see the wisdom of the picks in this draft, but it really does feel like somebody in another thread said that gman is making us take our medicine.

Outsiders non "homers" know the importance on building around your franchise player.

I think we're using the same rebuilding method as the Rams. Get the franchise QB, build a strong defense to compete and then go all out in drafting WRs in one draft. Next year is the time we go all out in drafting WRs. But unlike the Rams we're not stuck between a rock(the Hawks) and hard place(the 9ers).

You named 4 rbs. How do they help the receivers get open? More often then not only one of those 4 will be on the field at one time. Again Smitty is 34 in 5'9 can't keep putting it on his shoulders every year until he finally burns out. When he does we are screwed. What we need to do is get his replacement while he is still on the team.

Super Bowl teams trade their aging wrs for a 6th round pick. Losing teams expect their aging WR to be the savior.
