What are you looking for in Cam next year?

I would just like to see him be consistent and not try to do too much. I think a big part of his problem early next season was Chud's calling a read option play almost every down. I am hoping this year will be more traditional from the start. We should have a defense and running game that is good enough for Cam to not need to carry us every game.

Will we have a run game good enough that Cam doesn't have to do it all this year? Run game still wasn't good once we scaled back the read option runs.

it is kinda hard to go thru progression when no WR is getting seperation from the defender.

also i never see this mentioned but, Cam did throw a dirt ball on 4th down with a wide open TE. but the play before, why does a 6'2 WR not break the goal line on a slant route where all he had to do was reach the ball out?

There is no reason why we cant have a decent running game. I think the lack of it has mostly been due to play calling. To have a run game you have to commit to it even if it is not working at first.

Lined Cam up under center after the first q of the season....ran RBs like we did in 2011.

OL was the issue. Is the OL better? Doesn't matter the play calling if the OL doesn't create holes

Yeah, all the focus was on one play...

Kalil should be back healthy which should help the OL. Silatulu (spelling?) should improve having a year of experience under his belt. The running game did get better towards the end of last season. When Cam and the running back are wresting over the ball in the backfield it disrupts the whole play. I lost track of how many times it looked like Cam wanted to fake a hand off and the back wanted to take the ball and we ended up with play that went nowhere.

OL wasn't good when we had Kalil. But I agree the left side should be better....both Kalil and Gross where impacted by Amini.

Right side? That likely will be worse IMO. I doubt Piggy doesn't continue to decline and a DII rookie will be worse than him.

Cam only wrestled with Williams. Williams several times wouldn't let Cam take the read. So maybe getting a healthy Stewart and the new duck will help.

I think the season after that, bright colors are in order.

It's a job for the players. I don't mind celebration, but it'd be nice if he showed more maturity and didn't do it all the time, especially at the wrong time.
