Gettleman is the Honeybadger of GM's

I think Gettleman's philosophy is a change in culture than what we have been subjected to in the past. It's truly a breath of fresh air when looking back at the draft from this weekend.

Please don't take this as pimping my newly refreshed blog, but I just completed a write-up of Gettleman this weekend. Nothing mind-blowing, but I am a huge supporter of his blueprint. If you want to read it, it's on 20-20sports.com, if not, then don't. The point of this post is not to move traffic, so if this is in any violation, feel free to delete post.

Holy poo do people always look for something to be negative about? This teams biggest weakness was not having a decent DT line up and being gashed by the run through the middle. This draft fixed that problem. Now you have interior competency and superior pass rush VIA the middle. This instantly upgrades the lb core and secondary.

Gettleman has done very well considering the clusterfug of a situation Hurney left. No cap room, 5 bullets in the chamber and Gettleman has been on fire. But nope, let's be negative and Bitch Bitch Bitch..

You're missing the point, you haven't seen them play yet. You don't know if they will work out and won't know if Gettle is a good GM until years from now. All teams have some good picks that will most likley help their team at the holes they had. They are no different than us, not that we absolutley know anyway. I just don't understand whyt he huddle over reacts so much.

You know how the huddle goes hot to cold all the time? People flipping out, then happy all of a sudden? Well, it's due to over reacting like this.

Forgive me years of losing have made me cynical.

I don't like being cynical so sorry if I don't share the same outlook as you.

Not Dallas and the NYJs.

Dallas got a receiving TE, they improved. Jets have Cromartie and Wilson at CB and nothing behind that. It's safe to think their new CB can at least be a nickel so they likely improved as well.

I don't think any team in the league got so much better at their unit of greatest deficiency as we did at DT. Not even close.

This could be a valid argument. I just find it dumb when people say "well we got better" after a draft when it is almost impossible to not get better unless you have no picks. Even Hurney's worse draft made us a better team. That statement alone means basically nothing.

lol I really don't see a difference between them at least so far and I don't see how anyone could unless they are just fooling themselves.

Drafting based on running the ball and stopping the run is outdated especially in today's NFL. But hey at least he's not hurney!! derp

You may have recognized before that I'm an Auburn guy.

But, being an Auburn guy, I have to admit that the thing I most admire about Bama fans is that no matter what, whether their team is up, whether their team is down, before the first ball is snapped in the first game of the season, in their opinion they are CHAMPIONS until proven differently.

They could have gone 5-7 the previous year, but when the next year comes around, they are CHAMPIONS until they lose a game (and sometimes not even then).

Many people (mostly cynics) call that being delusional. I call it being a FAN.

And the thing that irritates me worst about both my Carolina Panthers and my Auburn Tigers is that, in general, the fans would rather be cynical and pessimistic about their teams to protect their delicate feelings and sensibilities rather than to have hope and show confidence every damn year.

April isn't even over yet and people are calling him Hurney 2.0 lol, gotta love this fanbase.

Is there anything you can point to that makes his philosophy different from his?

Not saying he is going to be Hurney 2.0 just that so far I don't see a difference. We drafted LB, RB, and linemen, despite other needs. So how is he different?

Your ignorant posts on this mb have no affect on how the panthers play.

Do you go into the game threads and think that if you type out your excitement it makes an impact?

Execution. Hurney had the same vision but executed poorly.

Gettleman has common sense. Teams calling him to see if they would be interested in a second round pick for next years first.. Gettleman tells them to fug off and asks if they are basically brain dead.. yeah Gettleman and Hurney are so alike..

If you can't see the difference between the then ignorance is truly bliss.
