if you're contemplating committing seppuku over our last two picks go ahead and do it because you're probably a terrible poster, but think about this:

Well considering we let Anderson go where is that depth. And you can never stop adding good young talent on the Oline to protect your biggest assest. Your Franchise QB.

Obviously the F.O. valued these players over the players you wanted us to draft.

If it comes down to us drafting who you want and what the F.O. wants. I will go with the FO 100% percent of the time.

anderson was let go but other LBs were brought in and back.i never said anything about ol,i was refering to the rb pick.sorry i cannot agree with everything this front office does, but new guy sos

Do you remember 2005? We lost the NFC Championship game because we had very little depth at RB. While I believe we are ok with depth at RB. BPA dictated that pick for us. Someone put him down as a poor mans Tevon Austin.

The point is everyone you draft after round 2 or 3 is not expected to start. After 2013 we are going to depart with D'Will or Stewart. Might be nice to look ahead.

that was back in 05,and you can find a RB like the back of your hand udfa.people keep saying we building for the future etc. but no one is paying attention to the 5 wr that will be free agents next spring.

D-Lo is expendable. Those of you that don't believe that, are living in yesterday.

Beason at this point, is desirable to keep around but production will have to skyrocket out of the gate and all-year-long or he will meet the same fate.

This ain't your Daddy's Panthers.

ffs we would still have Jake Dehlomme as our starting qb if it were up to some of you.

Sorry but if your production and worth are less than your cost than you have serious job security issues anywhere....outside of politics.

Enjoy the seasons we had with our the players but for gods sake quit death gripping the past (it aint pretty) because the future is looking a lot brighter.

I think he can.

Beason is a shell of his former self. Injury plagued, possibly lazy, and maybe even undetermined now that he finally get his large contract. there was a time when Beason was a god on the football field. Luke Kuechly is now that player.

Former shell of himself? Dude really. Please GTFO! The man has never been hurt before his achilles injury. Also it takes a guy 2 full years to come back from an achilles injury. Beason hasn't been able to come back fully from that yet and your acting like the guy is in his mid 30s and has had some major injuries or something. Beason is only 28 and will be fully healed from his achilles and shoulder surgery by training camp and going full speed. Dude take a step back and think before you speak. Look at the list of injuries he has had and his age. Still young and will completely healthy by camp time. If I had a dollar every time someone said TD was finished after tearing his ACL 3 times in the past few years. I would have some money. Fact is TD came back and is in his early 30s and played strong last year. Bottom line stop been so neg about Beason. I'm sure if Beason wants to stay and if he plays strong this year finish healthy. Then I'm sure him and Gettleman will sit down and talk about redoing his contract or Beason will become trade bait for some team who looking for a strong LBer who would be only 29 at the time.

The OP's right. It may not be the main reason these guys were drafted, but I'm sure it was a factor. For you other posters who are freaking out because we didn't draft based on need, it's a chore to even read your posts. If you think that 6th round WR was gonna replace Steve Smith, I don't know what to say.

There is zero benefit in cutting DeAngelo and trading him is worse. So we MUST keep him in the best interest of the team, financially. The same applies for Beason.

If Gettlemen had an opportunity one way or the other he would have already done it.

Everyone is screaming WR but we brought in two FA WRs and we still have Pilares, Edwards, Gettis, Adams and others already on the roster that are better than what was available in round 4 and beyond.

Cornerback is thin I admit but the same applies. The FO must have felt that the CB available were projects.

From what I have read this picks are solid picks for the round they were taken in.

You're right about one thing. This ain't my Daddy's Panthers but it also isn't your fantasy team where you dump player after player and make a difference.

AJ Klein and Kenjon Barner are both incredibly talented players at their respective positions who fell much farther in the draft than they were projected. But even that is secondary: both positions - linebacker and running back - are slots that we have massive amounts of cap space tied into. besides providing insurance for injuries at those positions, it also makes the following players expendable:

Jon Beason - cap hit $9,500,000

Deangelo Williams - cap hit $8,200,000

I recognize that cutting those guys off the bat wouldn't mean getting every dime of that space back, but that's $17.7 million in cap space negated by guys who can do their job for years on low-round rookie contracts.

17.7 million/year sounds like a nice salary for cam newton.

for the rest of you, here's a guide on hara-kari. don't forget your kaishaku, they come in handy.

Boom.

Or be better than what we already have on this roster at any position. Why waste a pick and they don't even make the roster. I think all our picks have a solid chance of making the 53 man roster.

Another well though through post..... NOT! Once again people here turn thee backs on our layers fast. Beason is not a shell of his former self. And lazy he has never been. Dwill just lie Stewart was underutilized for the past 2 seasons under Chuds pass happy offense. Got to love fans that k ow nothing about the game or the players
