if you're contemplating committing seppuku over our last two picks go ahead and do it because you're probably a terrible poster, but think about this:

And how many UDFA's does that kind of thing happen to again?

I'll wait right here for your answer.

The problem with you is you dont know the diffrence between players who are undrafed players who are trash and those who fell because of character concerns. Da rick is the latter. Just like berfict. Dont confuse the two.

Are you telling me Beason and Davis are going to play the entire season? Let me know if you are so I can laugh myself to death.

And there not going to play based on what????????????????

Wait until the season is over before saying Beason and Deangelo is going to get cut cause they might have great season

they might have a great season, but at what price? no GM in the league besides marty hurney would pay 10m a year for an OLB who hasn't produced in over two years and 8m for a running back with tons of mileage on his body when we have their replacements (and comparable peers) waiting in the folds.

We'll see but if he truly loves it here, then he'll have to take one or leave eventually.

...Unless, he has a stellar year.

Even if he has the best year out of all SLBs he is still grossly overpaid for someone who, as rocknrolla mentioned, will only be in on about 60% of defensive snaps. He's not better in coverage than TD or Keek.

If he were going to take a paycut, he would have already done so. I honestly think he's as good as cut after next season regardless.

The post said Beason was lazy, and probably didnt care anymore because he has got his money. That is absolutely baseless to come up with all from sitting at home on your couch and not seeing him on the field. Beason has been working hard to get back on the field, and has said in a couple interviews he wants to earn his money, but i guess you missed those. It has sucked not seeing him out there, but i dont hold his injuries completely against him he had one big injury that put him out for the year and then he had another one that kept him from playing up to his potential last year so he wuz stashed on injury reserve to recover in an already lost season even though he wasnt hurt enough that he couldnt play. I thought it wuz a good move, and besides we have stuck with Thomas Davis this long till he finally was able to stay healthy and he had a great season. Beason can do the same, long as he continues to work hard and stay focused. Be a true fan and support the guy. Watching Thomas Davis come back and play well gets me even more excited about Beason.

Well, yes...the lazy part is poo. Agree totally with that.

But contract, position move, and health alone could potential make this Beason gone after this year.

Burflict didn't have "character concerns"... he had on-the-field concerns.

Show me this proof of all the off-field "character concerns" that Burflict had.

I'll wait here.

AJ Klein and Kenjon Barner are both incredibly talented players at their respective positions who fell much farther in the draft than they were projected. But even that is secondary: both positions - linebacker and running back - are slots that we have massive amounts of cap space tied into. besides providing insurance for injuries at those positions, it also makes the following players expendable:

Jon Beason - cap hit $9,500,000

Deangelo Williams - cap hit $8,200,000

I recognize that cutting those guys off the bat wouldn't mean getting every dime of that space back, but that's $17.7 million in cap space negated by guys who can do their job for years on low-round rookie contracts.

17.7 million/year sounds like a nice salary for cam newton.

for the rest of you, here's a guide on hara-kari. don't forget your kaishaku, they come in handy.

My theory of the thinking behind these two picks(or at least barner) is that if we cut d-will next year or trade him barner can be a good change of pace back for Stew and Tolbert.. Also Barner is awesome in his own right, but of course all the overreactioners on this board are gonna be honking the "drastic needs" horn no matter what.

Even if Beason has the greatest season of his career he's going to have to drop his salary to about 2 mil a year to stay on the team. The defensive system we run doesn't keep 3 LB on the field all that often and I don't think we plan on continuing to pay out large sums of money to guys who are splitting snaps.

that depth you speak of is the 2 deepest positions on this team.and easy to fill spots.

Well considering we let Anderson go where is that depth. And you can never stop adding good young talent on the Oline to protect your biggest assest. Your Franchise QB.

Obviously the F.O. valued these players over the players you wanted us to draft.

If it comes down to us drafting who you want and what the F.O. wants. I will go with the FO 100% percent of the time.
