How dumb of a pick would have Gettleman made if Star didn't fall into his lap?

www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/kenjon-barner?id=2539289 plz look at his 40 time and tell me if hes the fastest player on the team. Infact he's the slowest runningback we have besides tolbert. You do not take two faster more talented players out just so you can give this guy carries.

He ran a 4.52. Hell i might still be faster than him lol.

He ran a 4.38 at his pro day.

So is claiming success, and that is what at most of the huddle is doing. What aren't you preaching to them?

These picks sucked hard besides Star, I hate every single other one. I really hope Gettle knows what he is doing, but Panther fans need to be open to the fact he might suck and there might have been a good reason he has not been a GM before all the way until now.

There are threads about our new monster Dline and our RG spot solidified. lol. Go preach to them, those statements are extreme. Truth is 1 2 or if we are lucky 3 of these guys will turn out to be first second or third stringers. The rest gone. These guys have to work out first and it could take years. People have their opinion.

the anger is strong with this one

If Gettleman didn't draft wide receivers and defensive backs it is because he knows what most folks don't which is we had bigger needs at other positions. He likes our secondary and wide receivers or thinks he can upgrade as the off-season unfolds easier than finding DTs. I really don't know why folks think they know more than a guy with 25 years of NFl experience evaluating talent who spent hundreds of hours watching film and evaluating talent. At least lets see how his guys do before throwing him under the bus.

I don't think any GM would be satisfied with our secondary, but I don't blame him for drafting the best available vs. a half assed DB or WR. This crap about deciding he's an idiot the day after his first draft is idiotic.

On the one hand, we have a bunch of folks who are butt-hurt because Gettleman didn't draft the positions they felt were an absolute need for the team.

On the other, we have a bunch of folks who are butt-hurt because the first group is attacking the picks they feel are fine.

Truth of the matter is, neither side really knows how this will truly pan out. As far as the draft, I'm going to trust in the guy who we hope knows what he's doing (much better than an ex-beat writer, thank the lord), and wait and see. Overall, I'm fine with this draft, it has a lot of promising talent that may take a few years to develop. This is exactly how the Giants got their monster DLine. I also expect us to take S and WR high in next year's draft, after building the depth of the trenches and unloading unfriendly contracts. This is a building process, and not a "win now!" philosophy that I agree with. Here's to hoping it all pans out, but to bitch and complain about it one way or the other is a bit premature and silly.

Let's see what unfolds first.

He said that sometimes the best player is already on the team instead of drafting them or acquiring them in free agency. Exactly what positions was he talking about? Id say WR and defensive secondary might fit the bill.
