Why won't Gettleman pull the trigger for the Secondary?

This is what makes me most nervous. His faith in the position is fine, but don't be so cocky that you don't do due diligence and add great competition there when it's staring you in the face. If "your guys" are really as good as you think, they'll win, but to stake the season on such a massive question mark is a terrifying prospect.

This division is stacked with quarterbacks and wide receivers and passing on some of the talent that has fallen is truly mind blowing. Low risk, high reward but this franchise has always been too scared to pull the trigger to potentially get us over the top.

There are still starters at skill positions to be had on both sides of the ball because of character issues but we will take an offensive or defensive linemen that won't see the field.

I think the biggest issue is that everyone else is a depth guy at this point in the draft. We already have depth guys at both S and CB so why take more of the exact same guys. Better to draft guys who fill true needs like backup linebacker and others. Its all about the player actually fitting the role they are drafted for.

How many winning seasons for us so far?

And THIS is why we won't be in the playoffs.

I thought the same thing when we went for Klein instead of Hawthorne, the CB. But, I believe that Gettleman has enough confidence in Florence and in either Thomas or Norman to really solidify the starting CB positions. Nickel is totally covered with Captain, DJ Moore, and whoever does make it into the starting rotation.
