"Remember Arizona" Banner for Training Camp...

from fox;

By addressing the past, Fox refused to sweep the problems of last season under the rug and let them fester.

And by doing so he challenged his players to come to training camp ready to play.

In my book that’s a wise coaching move.

“You can’t change it, but you can learn from it,” Fox said. “It’s like mistakes, first of all you have to admit them and second you fix them and make sure they don’t happen again. You learn sometimes by those things and I think that was the point of the talk.”

In his history Fox rarely focuses on losses as motivation. This time he has made an exception and he has done so judiciously. I don't believe he wants the fan base to go wild with this idea.

My initial thought was he wanted to send the guys off to their free time with a strong motivating idea so they would stay on task until the team met up again. So often the wins in December are won in June, July, and August. Especially when your Bye week comes in week 3. This teams needs to be in better shape than most any other team in the league. There can be no let up.

So when you guys are thinking of hanging your banner the likely reason for Fox using the AZ game as motivation will have past as the team will be together and under his supervision once again.

Seems to me, anyways

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Tragedy befell the Carolina Panthers training camp when a World War II veteran, apparently enraged by a banner reading REMEMBER ARIZONA, attacked and killed three Japanese fans who were standing close to the banner.

"It is what it is," said head coach John Fox. "This guy picked a bad day to have a bad day."

Epic fail.

As said by many other members they really don't need anyone else to remind them, they are already feeding off of it and a silly banner isn't going to help. Its different for a coach to remind them than a fan...they could take the banner the wrong way and think your insulting them, and as Zod stated it will be taken down immediately .

why spend money on a banner? try it out with poster board / magic marker and if they rip it up they rip it up.

personally i could give a rat's ass if it pisses off the players. #1, football players should be pissed off on the field and #2 paybacks are a mother.

I see many folks expressing their opinion or providing information from an insider point of view which is appreciated. Still several others are up to their usual crap of taking swipes and criticizing without adding anything to the discussion.
