(REPORT) Panthers eyeing WR Bailey or CB Wilson in the 2nd

Recommended Posts

I wasn't looking at his measureables. I was merely commenting on the fact that he is the 10th rated WR and to go in the 2nd round - that is high or reaching a tad bit, especially when you have Keenan Allen (86.3), Quinton Patton (83.8), Terrance Williams (83.6), Robert Woods (83.1), Markus Wheaton (81.8) and Justin Hunter (81.8) graded ahead of Bailey (79.0).

There's no question he has the talent. What i'm getting at is that #44 is a tad too high to be the #10 ranked WR. Given Gettleman's BPA philosphy, I doubt that Stedman would go at that spot anyway.

I doubt Gettleman gets his WR rankings from nfl.com.

I would MUCH rather have Patton in the 2nd.

I would MUCH rather have Wheaton in the 2nd.

If people want to talk about the WR in this class that will consistently fight for the ball and is a great hands catcher, that is Bailey. He has the speed too. I'd love it if we got him. Too many of the wideouts in this draft are body catchers or rely too much off push offs (Wheaton, Patton, Woods). Of course take Hunter over him but I think he's near the top of our target list and should be.

Hunter biggest knock is that he does not have the hand strength to win the tough catches in traffic. He looks around if over the middle. Steadman is a better all-around guy but of course a 6-5 guy with 4.3 speed is always nice to roll the dice with....Hunter is definitely an intriguing guy but he also has scary bust potential.

Bailey has done it for more than one season and is a scoring machine.
