(REPORT) Panthers eyeing WR Bailey or CB Wilson in the 2nd

Recommended Posts

I wasn't looking at his measureables. I was merely commenting on the fact that he is the 10th rated WR and to go in the 2nd round - that is high or reaching a tad bit, especially when you have Keenan Allen (86.3), Quinton Patton (83.8), Terrance Williams (83.6), Robert Woods (83.1), Markus Wheaton (81.8) and Justin Hunter (81.8) graded ahead of Bailey (79.0).

There's no question he has the talent. What i'm getting at is that #44 is a tad too high to be the #10 ranked WR. Given Gettleman's BPA philosphy, I doubt that Stedman would go at that spot anyway.

NFL.com rankings /=/ what NFL teams believe. Again, Te'o is one of the highest rated players overall with them.

We truly don't know with NFL teams. It is why it is so difficult to tell if a player is a reach or not (like people said Reid was until we found out Giants were interested) unless it is quite obvious like if we drafted say, Ryan Swope at #14.

Besides, again, I seriously doubt Bailey is the 10th rated WR with many teams boards. Only guy on that list I'd without a doubt take over him is Hunter and that is because Hunter is a damn beast (and Hunter is definitely better than some of those names ahead of him; only reason he is in 2nd is due to getting hurt not too long ago).

I LOVE Bailey (actually predicted him in the prediction thread a few days ago), but I don't know if he should be drafted in the second round. Ideally, he'd be a third round guy if there was some way to get back into that round.

I understand what you are saying, by the way. I just don't agree it'd be a reach, mainly because I don't think Bailey is that far down on teams lists. Dude is very good.

I like Bailey too. As i mentioned he reminds me of #89.

If we can get a trade into the 3rd round and get him with the #74 overall pick (Where Steve Smith was drafted) that would be cool.

Need a CB to cover #1 WRs, or a Safety to cover the killer TEs we're going to face in the NFCS. Drafting a WR in the second round is the last thing I'm expecting, we already have our starting WRs in place and they're playing fine. A future replacement for Smith is needed, but my god we're not finding that in the 2nd round of this draft. CB or Safety. Maybe OG.
