Any Good Reason Why We SHOULDN'T Take Jonathan Cyprien

Adding Lotulelei and Cyprien would make our defense a top 5 for sure, it would be deadly. I just don't see how or why we would pass up on Cyprien if he is there when we pick. I know we need a WR but I've thought all along besides perhaps Tavon Austin or NUK that Da'Rick Rodgers is our guy in the 4th.

Watch some of his playing, he would fit right in.

I think we have a perfect draft in the making.

Getting some talent in the secondary in Cyprien, Swearenger, or a CB like Taylor..will be nice to partner with D'arick Rogers..who for me is more ready to go than Justin Hunter(who screams Drew Carterish bust potential) and more dynamic than the Quentin Pattons, Robert Woods type wideouts.

I like Markus Wheaton a lot bc of the comparisons to Mike Wallace and polished route running, hands.

if CB, WR, Duke Williams in the 5th?...it can still work...which makes me feel good about not having that 3rd..which would help a lot if we did have it.

...of course I have a feeling we will draft an Olineman G Warford, OT Watson to screw this thread up but still a need......unfortunately.

but if Cyprien and Rodgers are the next two Wrs I will fell it would be an A+ perfect draft after 4 rounds.....

No more Corvey Irvin or Fiametta type reachs..please.

because this guy is available and is a top 5 talent but status has fallen off a cliff because of off field issues

Vontaze Burfict had a terrible scouting combine and off field issues and went undrafted last year only to end up as a steal for the Bengals as he commanded the inside for the Bengals... Burfict was ranked as a a top 3 linebacker after Keek and Hightower....

I say roll the dice and take the Badger.... his play made guys like Morris Claiborne and Patrick Peterson as 1st round talents

Mel Kiper has him mocked to us in 2nd..

Can't really knock the guy except his Instinct/Recognition is graded as below average. Aside from that, he is exceptional or average in all aspects of his game.

Appears to be quarterback of the defense and regularly gets players aligned pre snap but not a naturally instinctive player. Gets caught out of position too much. Flashes ability to jump routes but overaggressive and route recognition is just average. Takes cheese and gets caught jumping up in zone looks. Vulnerable to double moves. Bites on play action. Doesn't get head turned around in time to locate the ball when forced to turn back to the quarterback. Can launch at receivers and needs to develop better feel for when to pull up.

No just no....the guys coverage skills are subpar and he's way too short to be a number one corner. It would be fuging stupid to take him in the second. Even if Mathieu had a squeeky clean reputation he still wouldn't be a top 5 talent. That's just absurd....

I beg to differ.... he did this consistently against opponents in SEC... (mute the volume)

Kiper also said Star was a two-down NT.

Cyprien has been praised for his IQ and instincts by other scouts but his overaggressive nature is what makes it appear that Cyprien has average instincts.

Also worth noting Cyprien is a leader and will have a chip on his shoulder for going in the 2nd since a lot of people had him going in the first and he thought he was at the very least one of the top 3 safety's.
