Some Star Facts

Mr. Scot

Should this concern me?

Use your own judgment there. But for my part, it doesn't concern me.

Way I see it, he got frustrated and gave up, but after a little while away the itch kept eating at him and he came back to the game. These days, he's fully committed and he has a family to provide for.

Reads kinda like a guy failing to kick an addiction.

Still can't believe we landed this guy. Its funny caz if the Jets didn't have poo for brains he would (and SHOULD) have gone to them. He's simply better than richardson in every way (who I actually thought was worth a late second). The only other guy you can make a case for is Floyd but Star is such a better fit for us with getting Dwan resigned.

The thing I love most about him is his lateral speed. What we did with Greg Hardy last year was only the beginning, our defensive front is going to have so many looks it'll make Peyton Manning's head spin.

One thing I'm noticing that's kind of weird is that usually tackles with his hands. He drags runners and QBs down with his arms instead of putting his shoulders and body into it.

We should have gotten Travis Frederick

whooaaaa.... never thought of it like that.

supposedly he wanted to quit because it was effecting his grades, which is completely understandable because at JUCO and in high school its not like playing football at BMS (blue mountain state, don't know if anyone has watched that show but its about a powerhouse football program) where you have nerds to do your homework for you and you are pretty much ONLY on campus to play football.

the dude has a real life and real values. I have to appreciate that. he obviously valued his education (maybe he never thought he'd be good enough to play pro ball) and was able to at least commit to marriage. he understands sacrifice and commitment on some level - and I think both those traits are very desirable in a pro ball player.

From what it looks like to me is that his athleticism usually allows him to get in the vicinity of the ball carrier (seems like he SLIGHTLY overpursues) and he just tries to slow the guy down if he can get his big mitts on them. when you see him get a clean look at a guy he usually buries him the way you'd expect.

His high school coach was all over him for skipping classes and slacking on his homework, even in JuCo.

At some point, the light came on and he grew a work ethic. That same teacher now says that's one of his best qualities.

Yea, but when he put his hands on a ball carrier, they didn't get away. The man has vise grips for hands and he treats other players like boys among men.
