I wasn't here for Cam or Luke's draft..How was the huddle then compared to last night? Sounds like a 99% approval rate here for Star, I can only imagine that it was not nearly that high 2 and 3 years ago.

the board was very divided, angry, and combative in the span between luck's announcement that he'd return to stanford and shortly after cam's selection. there was the cam camp, the start jimmy/sign a washed up vet and tank for luck camp, and i swear to god there was a gabbert camp. also a few misc. people who liked kaepernick, stanzi, locker, and mallett.

luke's selection was still controversial but nowhere near that. a few people who wanted poe or fletcher cox were raging but he did have a following before the draft.

With Cam there was two very vocal fan bases You had one side that absolutely loved Cam and you had another group that absolutely hated him and thought he would be the worst thing that ever happened to Carolina. Believe it or not, there were some fans that wanted Patrick Peterson or Blaine Gabbert over Cam. I'm not going to lie, I personally wanted to give Jimmy more of a chance and draft AJ Green to help him at first, but about a week before the draft I fully embraced Cam and loved him.

With Luke it was really weird. He was pretty much universally considered to be a really good player but most thought that we didn't need him at all. It was a lot like the Jon Beason pick, no one was really excited but no one was really downright mad. Most of the Luke haters were either A) big Thomas Davis fans who thought we'd be releasing TD or B) U.N.C homers who wanted Quinton Coples

I'll never forget the people who wanted Billy fuging Volek to be signed and be our savior. That made me want to tear my hair out.
